Big majority of it was in the period of M.Kemal. Some mosques converted into the barn..

I don't think that is a good enough reason to close this thread.
If he is lying then that would be a good reason.

Also I had no idea this happened, It does sound like something Mustafa Kamal would do.

CHP has never in its time shown any progress, contrary always denounced Muslims, fought against Muslim rights (Hjab etc), Propogating Arab hatred through TV and newspapers, and ruined the economy. This is their legacy to Turkish youth, nothing else

Pathetic, I don't think anyone will question that bad decisions were made in the past, and it's been rectified through time. However don't forget that after the struggle for freedom from the western powers there needed to be done something in Turkey, a country struggling in the aftermath of a war.

The question is, is a cami (mosque) still a cami if there are none who goes to prayer. If a cami was converted to a hospital, would you curse and swear at that as well. To waste money for naught (huzüle) is haraam in Islam. Should they spend the peoples money to build barracks when there is a big empty camii that isn't used and the money be spent on food?

All you need to pray to Allah (c.c.) is a clean spot, which you have if you have your seccaade.

You can justify it with this and that, but the fact remains that they tried to shut down thousands of Mosques. Some may have the honest intention but i frankly doubt that the policy was intended as making the places function-able.

Hahahaha.... There were news like this in Zonguldak four years ago when I was still in High School... They were proven propaganda too... I am pretty much sure that this forumturat guy is making propaganda again It is astonishing that even after decades of religion traders propaganda people still care about Mustafa Kemal more than they care about religion, I guess I have to give credit to us Turks when it comes to resisting religious bigots...

No need to raise the tension guys. it's pretty obvious that everything forummurat seems to post reeks of massive propaganda, and he'd probably prefer massive conservative islamism. Perhaps he's a shia muslim, I don't know though.

There is, as far as I can see no productive value in what he posts. He seem to be living in the past and enjoys bashing past occurances. (wasteful to spend so much energy on past things).

I havent done extensive study on Turkish matters and i am not qualified enough to comment on this matter..
I would suggest the same to other Pakistani members..If you have in depth knowledge of the matter,come and discuss..But if you dont...better keep away.

Last time I checked Kurds forms 15.7% of Turkey's population so they don't like turkey or turks so what's their demand freedom????

good news, turkey also has lots of churches more than the christian population of turkey, so why dont use them for 'useful' purpose??

according to wiki in istanbul:

number of christians = 49000(armenians and greeks)
number of churches = 123

average population per church = 398

average population per mosque = 350

so more or less equal,this time you should start selling church first

These are some of the countries that has more teacher per capita than Türkiye....

Don't b'tch about propagandas about sold mosques when there are more mosques in Turkey than any other country in the world while we have one of the least educated citizens on earth...
