even america got colonised for a long time, hong kong is the biggest single economy of china and it was a colony till 2000s,malaysia was a british colony too so was singapore whats your point??

yeah they looted our wealth but wealth has come and gone, mongols and mughals also looted sub continent wealth for centuries, but they also industrialised many countries

africans still have a lot of wealth, have you seen movie 'blood diamond'?? they can still be rich countries, but they dont know about civilization, they dont get civilized

No you just lost the last great Muslim Empire for a farce of a war and managed to screw the whole Ummah for a territorial Jihad...no wonder Ataturk was fed up with the old system.

P.S There were Indian Muslims in the British Indian Army who refused to fight against the Ottomans - a Muslim Empire - and deserted or were shot for the mutiny - I should know, my Grandfather served as an Engineer in the British Indian Army in the First World War. I feel you on this one, we earn money, work hard and make our investment in Turkey. And if you can improve and help your city, village etc. in growing becoming better then you've donea great deal for improving life for your turkish countrymen. e.g. opening an internet cafe etc. in remote areas etc. and such.

I'm quite saddened that you don't seem to answer what I am asking for. You are more focused on defending "ülkücü" than looking at the core values. I have nothing against ülkücü (nationalists), so don't jump to conclusions.

If you look at history, of any nation, you will see that the nationalistic/patriotic feelings have been one of the greatest assets the people has (revolutions, defending their home from invaders etc.). And it's not any different for Turkey, but what you may want to think about is, how the past actions are any similar to present time.

Afghanistan during the reign of Sovjet, watch the movie "charlie wilsons war", a very good movie, or Rambo 3 for that matter.

What I am saying is do not confuse the actions of the past with the present. There are good and bad in everything.

Here is another opinion of mine, the people who fought for Turkeys freedom from occupation were more patriotic than nationalistic.

Another opinion of mine that may cause an uproar is this, Islam in Turkey is wonderful, and perfect, but Islam in iraq and Afghanistan are rotten. It makes me sick, and the reason for this feeling is that shiite and sunni attack each other and bomb each other...

But the flaw is human and has nothing to do with Islam, this I also know.

LPD/LHD/helicopeter destroyer/MPSS(whatever people calling it) doesn't sail alone.they usually become the core of a taskforce(consists of escort vessel,logistic vessel,and preferably a submarine).

this type of ship has many other uses other than as power projection.among its roles are amphibious transport,humanitarian effort,transporting large goods and evacuation.

speaking about thailand,their aircraft carrier is indeed an aircraft carrier,a small one.but they have problem operating it(them Harrier they bought are being mothballed). Currently they are going to procure Makassar-class LPD from Indonesia(with assistance from South Korea).Philippines also going to buy Makassar-class LPD(which is no surprise,because Thailand,Indonesia and Philippines have marine corps as their QRF force and philippines and indonesia have thousands of isles)

May I please have the source? You know you can't make claims such as "Country A is buying ships manufactured by Country B" without having proof.
