Designing the antenna, separated from the other parts, is a very smart idea. In case of being hunted by an anti-radiation missile (ARM) you are not going to lose all the system.

Considering the partnership of Roketson in the RIM-162 Evolved Sea Sparrow Missile (ESSM) project, is there any chance of using it in the Medium Altitude SAM system? Something like adjusting infra-red/ultra-violet seeker unit on it, May be!
