Dude,it has nothing to do with sect.Syria was the only country who stood with us in Iraqi invasion. They supported Iran in that war.You have absolutely no idea what foreign policy and diplomatic relations between countries is based on.
If you see Iran doesn't have good relations with some Sunni countries, that's not because we hate them,it's because they hate us and act against us.Want proof? Look at Iran-Iraq war and how those Arab puppets supported Saddam in war.
We have good relations with Turkey, although it's a secular state but it has a Sunni majority population. The same about Oman.See?It's not all about sect.
when some syrian bastards burn our holy flag,i became an assad supporter.also there are some Iranian here who back syrian opposition.
anyway we should consider some difference between oppositions and so called FSA
and dont forget Iran's foreign policy here is not the case.
Only if you knew what's happening in Turkish territory next to Iraq and Syrian border!
Further more situation is aggravated by daily jingoisitc statements of Maliki and Asad!
Pilot could have astrayed mistakenly few yards into Syrian territory, yet no one on this forum can say with authority where was Turkish a/c flying.
I believe, This incidence will not change Turkish policy of flying its jets over PPK infested regions.
If Syria has decided to shoot every Turkish plane getting astrayed into its territory than it is certainly a wrong approach.
News of sold media. We know what is mission of "Wall Street Journal".
1.There is little doubt Turkey was testing Syria' Air Def. It turns out these are alert. Moreover, Syria has revealed a strong resolve to defend herself.
2. The idea above of a false flag enacted by Israel/USA would have been accepted but for Turkey's response immediately after the incident.

This paragraph shows exactly what the article is written for.
No credible source, no proof, no record, nothing... This article contains nothing to make people believe what its writers wrote it for. We all know what the "an official who wants to stay anonymous" statement is used for.
We show you the official reports, records, radar traces of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, and yet you expect us to believe this "former senior US official who wants to stay anonymous" guy.
I am sorry but I even consider the time I spent for reading this article and writing these sentences as a waste of time.
^^ YOu know there is a group of people who wish to believe what they like and this is exploited by the evil.
Guys I didn't post this thread to start a fight. I thank you all for your inputs but come on... Lets keep it professional minus insults and trolling.
reality check
-our phantom was from 173. filo safak (dawn) tactical reconnaissance.
we can safely assume that it was doing its job. and its job is not testing syrian air defence or testing our radars.
- and mission failed. we lost a phantom and two pilots to syrians this is what matters.
I feel partly it was our foult to. I mean come one you expect a RF-4 to function and do a good job in modern time? The relations are already bad and now your sending 50 Year old Plane for reconnainssance, Use a F-16 for god sake atleast it can do much better. The poor pilots couldnt do anything then hearing the alarm for an incoming missile, A F-16 could avoid it.
i think instead of partial, anybody here needs to be neutral judge for example turkey shouldnt have violated the border, now people will call me to hate another 'muslim brother' and loving another muslim brother, but im just being neutral, turkey, iran and arabs, you guys are being played and fighting for silly reasons and these countries dont even have land dispute, i think turkey is developing fast so instead of getting involved in some another guy's mess turkey can just keep going and become stronger
if syrians try to illegally cross turkish borders then its a problem for turkey and turks need to stop all those refugees and illegal immigration
