Iran plans to increase daily gasoline production to 100 million liters by 2015 given the country's high capabilities in oil and gas production, said deputy oil minister while inaugurating the first phase of Abadan Oil Refinery in southwestern Iran on Tuesday.
Alireza Zeighami noted that currently the daily gasoline production stands at 54 million liters and this figure will rise to 100 million liters by the end of the Fifth Five Year Development Plan in 2015, Fars News Agency reported.
Referring to the current 1.7million-barrel production of oil and gas condensates in seven refineries, he said that the volume will increase to 2.15 million barrels in 2015.
Meanwhile, head of Department of Environment Mohammad Javad Mohammadizadeh on Wednesday underlined the high quality of the gasoline produced in Iran, saying that gasoline produced in many Iranian refineries meet the Euro5 standard.
"At present the gasoline produced at Shazand and Abadan refineries conform to EU standards and the quality of gasoline produced at Tehran refinery will soon reach the same standard," Fars News Agency quoted Mohammadizadeh as saying.
The official reiterated that all Iranian refineries will improve the quality of their gasoline to reach the global standards by the end of the current Iranian year (started March 21).
