Amazing then that even after this so-called neglect of Muslims, they voted for Modi's party, the BJP, in the civic body elections which were held in the Muslim majority areas.

Baffling indeed!

It is reported that only upto 30% of Muslims of Gujarat voted for BJP, they were persuaded to vote for BJP by giving Muslim candidates the tickets in those constituencies where there was no chance of BJP winning. This way Modi played with Muslims one more time; he took their votes and none of the Muslim members was elected on his party's tickets.

Modi will be accepted when he is man enough to deal with the ghosts of his past instead of running away from the topic. Why not start by giving proper housing for the victims of the riots? Their languishing in refugee camps certainly helps keep the issue alive.
