We pledged 3.25 billion$. This will take time to materialize, we should provide food aid immediately.
Damn...! Pakistan should send some of our surplus wheat from our storages ASAP ! In the meantime Pakistan Red Crescent and numerous Welfare Organizations must be taken into confidence about the situation in Yemen and a proportionate response determined; the $20M that Zardari pledged to Afghanistan is much better served if food is bought of it and delivered to the UNICEF mission in Yemen !
They are living one of their worst days. I hope this support will help them to get to a better tomorrow.
Inshallah, may God make the Yemenis stronger.
sad state of affairs . i do hope help reaches them quickly . good on KSA to commit to help those people.
I am completely pessimistic regarding helping any country what so ever. We help them today tomorrow you will see column writers saying it was to support terrorism. So in my opinion it is not our business.
My Gosh! After seeing these clips of poverty in Yemen, Pakistan looks like a paradise!
Why is Yemen so poor?
Look at Lebanon for instance: We helped them with countless Riyals in aid money and even made the famous Taif treaty which ended the civil war there. We built a huge amount of its infrastructure and now its TV is a miniature PressTV.
Look at Iraq: We helped them in their war and saved them from starvation and they ended up invading us.
Look at Afghanistan: We gave them countless amounts of Aid and they ended up hosting Al-Qaeda which is vowing to destroy our country.
The list goes on and on and on. And to top it all of we are blamed day and night of supporting terrorism. Seriously to hell with them I say. Let them starve and die starving if in the end they won't even say thank you. Instead of acting like a good Samaritan abroad how about being a good Samaritan in house for a change??
We should look at things in the manner of "How will this be in our interests" instead of "Let us do this and get some hasanat for it" Because that is just dumb. I just read the press conference about Yemen earlier. We are still being stupid saying "Houthis are part of the political process" and stuff like that. We should openly destroy all these things completely. And then help Yemen build itself in the form of easy loans and not Aid and grants.
Just like Lebanon we are giving the government money Ian is giving the opposition weapons. And thus we need to do the same thing.
