    Sparten,

Get real. Be a pragmatist like your President General.

Israel is not 'an entity calling itself a state'. It IS a state and a thriving nation! Unpalatable that it maybe to you, yet Israel has literally made the desert bloom. Maybe your Arab brother could learn something from them and not wallow in self pity! What your Arab brothers have to learn is not to whine, but take a leaf and beat them in the game. Hizbs may not have won in the literal sense, but they have given something for the world to ponder. But then that is in the field of war. Let's see something in the field of agriculture and economy.

Your anger is worthless in real terms.

Learn from your President. He wooed the Jews in NY. He wants to recognise Israel. You and your mindset does not.

    Who loses?

    You!

Go give me a good rejoinder now so that I can understand your viewpoint. I have understood General Musharraf's. Prove that he is wrong!

    Neo,

    The BJP is changing.

Advani (who is actually a Pakistani as Mushrraf is an Indian) and now Jaswant Singh.

They are all praises for Pakistan.

Let Togadia and his like stew in their broth for all I care!

Anyone know how much of the Specialized American equipment by Lockheed Martin is goin to be a component of the Dolphins? Aussi Collins have been turned into the most lethal non nuclear submarine force in the world due to retrofittings with American Systems.

Egypt's and Saudi's economy is three times the size of Israel's. Both Egypt's and Saudi's economy is growing faster than Israel. In ten years the economy of UAE will overtake that of Israel. If anyone, Israel could teach something to Syria (which is growing bit more slowly). I havent even touched upon Iran and Turkey which which have economies four times as big as Israel. Kuwait, UAE, Bahrain also have similar levels of per capita income to Israel.

Your negative attitutes to Arabs is not fully supported by the ground realities. If not for the 10% of GDP that Israel spends on military and the 10B in u.s. aid it receives (in addtiont to billions more in tech. transfers) Israel wouldnt be the preeminent power of the region but rather one of few competing powers.

Also Saudi and Egypt increasing agriculture is ludicrous when agricultural products can be bought so cheaply from Brazil, Vietnam and Australia. Making a desert "bloom" may not be economically efficient.

Actually Sig, desert farming is extremely profitable. 40% of all the herbs sold in the US come from Israel....Yes!! Isreal, grown in the desert with drip irrigation systems and hydrophonics. Likewise 60%of all the Berries,Herbs and Cut Flowers sold in England and EU come from ....the Sahara Desert!!! Algeria,Morroco,Tunisia are all lucrative producers of agri-produce because the profit margin is so high!
Infact...Israel today is the world leader in desert farming technologies.

They have even genetically engineered a featherless variety of chicken! yes...since poultry farms use a hell of a lot of precious water to clean off the feathers.

Its not actually grown in the Sahara desert, in Romon times North Africa provided the bulk of agriculture. There is fertile land on the Northen tip. Prosperity of Arab nations (actually all nations) will not come from growing vegetables, but from opening their markets to international trade which will force them to engage in what is best and trying to raise savings rate (and hence investment) with compulsory superannuation contributions and the like.

Germany Confirms Sale Of Two Submarines To Israel
    AGENCE FRANCE-PRESSE | Mon, August 28th, 2006, 01:41

Berlin: The German government on Friday confirmed reports that two German submarines have been sold to Israel, but said the vessels are not equipped to carry nuclear weapons. Deputy government spokesman Thomas Steg said the two Dolphin-class submarines, called U212s, were ordered in November 2005 but would only be delivered to Israel in 2010.

"They are not designed to carry nuclear weapons," he added.
Steg also confirmed that the German government would finance a part of the sale.
A spokesman for the defence ministry said the sale agreement between Israel and the submarine manufacturer, Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft AG, was concluded on July 6.
The Jerusalem Post has reported that the submarines will be fitted with a propulsion system allowing them to remain underwater for far longer than submarines already in use by the Israeli navy.
It already has three German submarines -- the most expensive weapon platforms in Israel's arsenal.
Germany, which believes it has a historic responsibility to help Israel because of the mass murder of Jews in World War II, donated the first two submarines after the 1991 Gulf War.
It split the cost of the third with the Jewish state.
According to Jane's Defence Weekly, the U212s are designed for a crew of 35, have a range of 4,500 kilometres (2,810 miles) and can launch cruise missiles carrying nuclear warheads.
Reports of the sale of the submarines have sparked controversy in Germany because of Israel's military offensive on Lebanon.

The Isrealis will surely get the Nukes, no matter what is said or written.

One has to read the Cheny inspired paper on US Defence Policy Guidelines when he was the Secretary of Defence.

Everything that is happening is what he and his team enunicated in this Policy including Iraq.
