Iran: Western officials’ trips to China for sanction not so effective

TEHRAN (ISNA)-Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said on Tuesday that Western officials’ trips to China for sanction against Iran will not prove so effective.

Concerning UK Foreign Secretary David Miliband’s recent trip to China, Mehmanparast said, “we do not think that Western officials’ trips to China to press the country for sanction against Iran will prove so effective, we regard China as a key, influential and independent country in the international scene.”

Speaking in his weekly press conference, Mehmanparast regarding the issue of seizure of an Iranian ship in Yemeni coats, said, “an Iranian fishing boat whose crew were mostly from Pakistan and were catching fish crossed into water borders unintentionally,but Iranian embassy and consulate officials are pursuing the issue.”

He also congratulated Iraqi people on holding parliamentary election.
