There actually have been Atheist buses all over the West calling for people to think about leaving Religion behind altogether Link.

So this general development is not targeting Islam specifically. Secular people have become more outspoken and grown in numbers all over the West (and probably the all over the world, mainly thanks to the Internet). Welcome to the 21st century.

However, Islam is the only religion that calls for killing people who leave the faith and has some of its followers actually acting upon it, some Muslim countries even institutionalize this ultimate religious intolerance into laws. That is why Muslims wanting to leave the faith (and there are more every day in the west and other places - where they actually have that choice) might need special counseling and help, even protection. There have been many cases here in Germany and all over Europe where Muslim who choose to leave their faith behind have been persecuted and even violently attacked by family members and other Muslims clinging to this archaic and barbaric law on Apostasy in the Qua'ran.

To the Muslim here my Question would be this, If Islam is "the one true religion" and Allah is all-powerful, why is it necessary to threaten people with death (executed by other humans) in case they choose - of their own free will - to leave the faith behind for another or no faith at all?

Their country, their laws of freedom. It is within the US territory. Saudi for example is in the list of most "unforgiving countries by rights" in US list. But Saudi doesn't give a damn. Because they are free to apply what laws they have in their country. Same goes for all countries.

This lady is the Secretary of state for Islamophobia in US apart from Glen Beck and Rush. Her intention is to hurt the Muslims. Till this rescission ends, these kind of war morons, will get attention but once the economy picks up these stupids will be lost in the New york traffic. Don't need to give much attention to these kinds of hate slogans, as many New yorkers doesn't have time to read them. She should be air dropped in Afghanistan war zone. It would have been interesting if the ad had said "Leaving Judaism". One can only imagine the outrage that it would have caused in the American mainstream media.

Many non Muslims posting in this thread have said they would not have given those ads a second glance. True because these ads were clearly targeting Muslims.

Well if we don't react and show displeasure at activities likes these. Ignore them and not lodge a strong protest we might end up soft targets like the Christians.

Whenever anyone wants to mock religion or God nowadays, Christian believes are the target of choice. One can mock the Christians and get away with it... because they have been softened up and learned to live with attacks on their faith.

Please don't generalize.The proportion of these people here, will be same or less (ratio) than the secular ones in Pakistan. If you read the thread from the start, you will know that a bus with Adv to "know more about Islam" was also running for some time.
