There have to be uniform judicial laws of citizens and expat, otherwise the Saudi citizens continue to mistreat maids/servants. Their violations include non-payment of wages, torture, rape and murder. Most of the time they get away with it.

I'm not going to lie, my first response was going to be "they were Persians and Indians". In the past, they may have been great, borrowing a great deal from Turks, Persians and Indians of course, but in the modern era, they are divided and unindustrialized. It is fact that without oil, Arab countries will literally starve to death - they can only grow something like 15% of their food.

well, think of it this way. if i get a big fat check in the mail for $5000 every month, i wouldn't work either. i'm sure when the oil runs out, they'll start doing somethihng.

Saudi Arabia remains an ultraconservative nation but the king could be considered a "reformer" I guess.

Building the university was a good move for Saudi Arabia and maybe it will be the first step toward modernization.

Also, some members of the royal family such as Prince Talal have stated they would like Saudi Arabia to become a constitutional monarchy.

Having oil reserve is nothing until it becomes commercially viable to extract oil from it. North Pole has huge reserve of oil and gas.

But it's also true Arabs have most incompetent leadership. Consider what a Mustafa Kemal ataturk has done for turks and what mad mullahs doing for Persians.

What I don't understand is why Pakistani's are so in love with these Saudis (not all of you but there are many Pakistani Saudi lovers which is down right weird cuz they are more loyal towards KSA than native Saudis). They treat everybody except whites like garbage. South East Asians are treated worse than everyone.

Please dont generalize all Saudis as bad people. Islam teaches us all Muslims are brothers. Only the enemies of Islam will benefit if we divide further.

Many Saudis are very good people. Pakistan received a lot of donations for flood victims from the people of Saudi Arabia in 2010. Saudi Arabia was in top 3 largest donors for Pakistani flood victims. And also Saudi Arabia does not send its intelligence agencies to cause trouble for Pakistan like some other countries do. Saudi Arabia is still a trusted ally, and it will be in Pakistan's interest to keep Saudi Arabia as an ally. When US placed sanctions on Pakistan in the 90's it was Saudi Arabia and China that helped Pakistan the most financially.

I am not sure how the Arabs are victims. Even if they get unified, what will they achieve ? It may be a united voice , but how it solves their internal issues ? United front will not solve the internal issues like corruption, education for men/women, disasterous economic policies. Each naton can do it on their own, but people first have to want it.

There is enough evidence to prove that rich Arabs treat their maids and helpers like animals. When you hear such news involving Saudis ranging from the royals to ordinary citizens, there has to be some truth.

Dude I seriously doubt if the Saudis have any intelectuals that is not paid for by the state. The Saudis pay you not to think. They have thousands of Prince on the payroll so they don't bad mouth Saudi Arabia.
