Inner region development is important. With formerly impoverished areas joining greater production and consumption, China's 500 million middle class will reach to 900 million in a decade. Half way through, China will have a sizeable GDP.

This is a good way to spend all the surplus money as long as oversight and tracking continues because some people lifted out of poverty may fall back into it.

Also, providing youngsters good education and encouraging them full participation in larger society is crucial.

People don't understand how hard this is to do. This could never have happened in a "democracy". A developing country cannot afford to have a democracy, where the whims of developments are controlled by the biggest pockets and massive capital from Western countries to exploit other countries for their own interest. Every single developed nation starts out with a strong man.

This is something Anglo don't understand, because Anglo killed people and commit genocide to get the land, and enslaved people to get the labor to build their capital. Use that capital and war to exploit other countries for resource. Ask yourself, would any developer develop these homes when the people living there are dirty poor and have been living that way for generations?

The fact that Chinese central government and teach and building a foundation for impoverish people to lift themselves out of poverty is an inspiration and model to many.

Poverty alleviation should be taken by stages, one step at a time, not to just simply try to skyrocket the very poor to match the first world standard of living overnight. We should be wary of New Great Leap Forward.

A very nice new hospital..but would any doctors go to those mountains to work?
