Not sure how credible the source it but addition of 36 to 48 Rafales will make IAF a potent force. In addition to that I would like to see a huge chunk of Budget going to health and education sector.

Good decision.
Once Pakistan inks deal for J-10C we should buy additional Rafales.
Otherwise no need.

Do india has enough money after covid mess since last year ?
Yes more than enough.
Barely any impact on Indian central govt finances.

To offset loss in revenue from some sectors, Indian govt has also massively increased tax on petrol to earn more revenue
Pakistan should ditch fourth gen Fighter and directly go for 5th Gen. J-35 Looks like a nice prospect
Many years away from being a reality

The terms "likely" and "if" tell us how credible this news item is. AF plans are formulated over 10 and 20 years and enacted over 5 year cycles with adjustments as required. You hardly ever do knee jerk buys but phase in items on a regular planned basis. Funds need to be allocated for this. I do not have any idea of IAF buying power but assume it is good. However if IAF needs the Rafale it will buy it irrespective of what PAF does. IAF just does not react to PAF Buys but will also have to cater to PLAAF acquisitions. So in short this is entirely conjectural.

True. Agree with you, We should be more concerned about China and its acquisition. I wish Pakistan and India has some kind of accord where we do agree that we are not going to go for war for another 30 or 40 years so that both the countries could work for its populace and provides a good life to its citizens.

Pakistan already has a strategy to deal with Rafale.. but if need be new jet will be inducted..

It's IAF after all took them 40 years to come up with a doctrine 😆

Lobby at work once again, Modi wants to rebrand his image is west so he will definitely go for these useless planes. In first batch itself a secondhand plane was handed over to IAF but corrupt officer remains quiet.
