Over 60% of globally produced electric cars are marketed in China

It’s no secret that China is the world’s largest market for electric cars, But what is surprising is the enormous amount of vehicles moving within the boundaries of the Asian giant.

According to data provided by Cui Dongshu, secretary general of the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), the global sales volume of electric vehicles from January to June 2023 was 7.22 million units. Of which 61% were sold in China only.

CPCA data shows that, during the first half of 2023, Tesla, BYD, SAIC, Volkswagen and Geely-Volvo consolidate as main manufacturers of electric cars worldwide, In fact, it is surprising that BYD is the largest selling brand in the Asian nation.

BYD’s Growth Is So Amazing That It Will Build Its First Million Units In May 2021But these days, it announced the delivery of its new energy vehicle (NEV) no. five lakh, this honor went to the Denza N7, thus becoming the first car manufacturer in the world to reach this milestone. Without a doubt, the Chinese are the masters and masters of electric cars around the world.

in the matter of ColombiaIt is pertinent to mention that the deposits accumulated till the end of July lastThe Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) segment recorded a new registration volume of 1,872 unitswhich represents the contraction of -17,5%, That compared to 2,269 reported in the same period in 2022, according to information compiled by the National Association for Sustainable Mobility (Endemos).

The outcome of the competition in the Chinese market will determine the list of strong EV companies in the coming decades.

Why, do you deny this fact? we have Chinese site, but do you understand Chinese?

China and India seem to be the major countries in the low-end EV game. Other countries are also looking at other technologies like hybrids plugin hybrids hydrogen etc to replace fossil fuels. So, it is not a surprise that China is dominant in this market, but it is not clear if EVs will emerge as the dominant technology to replace fossil fuel based ICEs.

That news talk about "vehicles", the other news talk about "electric cars".

A electric bike is a "vehicle" but is not a "electric car".

So maybe it's a translation problem of the English website.

There are several Indian players in electric two-wheelers and Tata is dominant in cheap electric cars. I am talking about the low-cost EV market. Tata is selling electric cars for as cheap as USD 10k, which is quite low if you consider the fact that India taxes cars very heavily and even the entry level bmw x1 ( ICE) costs about 65k usd in India.

This data doesn't include two wheelers.
Also Tata doesn't report its EV sales separately, so it is not clear where they would rank in that chart. The point is that India is providing large tax incentives for EV compared to other technologies like hybrids and, despite poor infrastructure, I expect that the future market share of EVs would be higher in India than in countries like the US which have taken a more neutral view on which technology should replace conventional ICEs.

Hopefully next time you don't group China abd India together, we are not talking about the same thing, I m talking about big guys league like BYD and Tesla

I grouped them together based on low cost electric vehicles. Tesla doesn't make any low cost electric vehicles.

Tesla also doesn't make this, you group China and India together for EVs only shows how delusional you Indians are
