Shahed-136 - Tracking usage & expanding understanding.

Some 77 percent of parts in one Shahed-136 were U.S.-made, according to Ukrainian intelligence. They were produced by 13 American companies. The other components were made in Canada, China, Japan, Switzerland or Taiwan.

Iran stronk, I guess. Basically a foreign-made drone.
"Explainer" explains little.

GNSS (GPS/Glonas) modules are SDR boards (software defined radio).
SDR boards are all the same, no matter the manufacturer, it matters the software that controls them.

^ Or just ask the Iranians:

Well over 90 percent of Shaheds get intercepted
Don't confuse shaheds and hamas rockets!!
I remember when Iranians here were foolishly claiming Shahed is stealthy and other BS.
L.mao- if shaheds r so useless then why are you taking time attack them via trolling about it not being effective?

"If shaheds are not effective why are you saying they are not effective?" - most logical Iranian

Please ignore this bad troll of Beny, he doesn t deserve attention...

Iran shaheds keeps unbeaten by western systems,
Iran shaheds are smart weaponry capable to breach the most intense air defence scenarios with its delta stealthier design.

This game changer weapon has balanced the war for Russia, that must be on debt with iranian for generations, hope they give iranians all the SUs, this must to be done yesterday.

Ukraine cannot stop shaheds, israeli systems, german systems, US sysitems cannot see this weapon, and the fate of the targets are pre scripted.

Ukraine has been deceived by US, Israel and europeans... their systems are incapable against smart shaheds.

sure - so can you provide some facts to support your argument that Shahed -136 our sweetheart is "ineffective"? its put up or shut up moment bro- provide facts/documentation/logic to support your point or accept Shahed-136 is one of the kings of the Ukraine war.

Also, if Shahed 136 was ineffective then why did US govt officials beg Iran to stop providing them to Russia multiple times? I dont expect you to understand since Israel's air defenses that are "the most advanced in the western world" cant even effectively intercept Hamas rockets anymore- NATO + Israel =- all paper military tigers!

First of all, if Shahed 136 was ineffective then why did US govt officials beg Iran to stop providing them to Russia multiple times? I dont expect you to understand since Israel's air defenses that are "the most advanced in the western world" cant even overcome hamas rockets anymore- NATO + Israel =- all paper military tigers!
It's doing nothing lol, fact is practically all of them are shot down.
Shahed 136 is a garbage drone that's not stealthy nor hard to intercept

No one ever begged Iran of anything.

lmao.....thats not what the videos we see every other day in Ukraine (or from Romania recently) tell us....Shaheds basically destroyed Ukraine's entire port infrastructure on its Black sea cost.

on paper, sure, but Ukraine as a country has a big azz toothache type of pain from Shahed-136. If Shahed 136s are actually garbage, why have over 50 countries approached Iran to buy them? your trolling azz dumb points dont match up to Shahed-136s reality or true reputation fairly earned on the battlefield.

how would you know? you cant even find or interpret any basic stats on the internet properly.

it costs nothing. Even if %5 goes through ukrainian air defenses, it's a lot of bang for your buck.

İf it makes them spend SAM missiles, that are probably much more valuable than the drone itself, all the better. If it saturates the ukrainian air defense in some places opening a window for the Su-25s to conduct strikes even more better.

Sure, it's garbage. It's intended to be garbage. I wonder if they can make it even more garbage ...just remove the warhead and attach some kind of wire mesh to make it look bigger on radar, or just dispense some chaff fooling SAM batteries to open up.

20-40k dollars isn't nothing, and Ukraine is given old stock missiles which are practically free for the west. It's not even 5 percent, it's probably less than that.

For example, NASAMS uses AIM120A. Sea Sparrow is also old, based on the AIM7. But they're perfectly capable of taking out such drones. Stingers, Gepards etc as well.

The best air defenses against such drones would be other drones that crash into them. Such systems allegedly exist already.

What do we see? For every video of Shahed hitting something, there's a dozen of videos of it being shot down.
Romania is an example of a Shahed missing its target, either because it's damaged, or because of Iranian engineering quality.

50 countries? Only Banana Republics buy weapons from Iran.

1. Old stock has to be replaced, when ukraine runs out of AIM120As they'll have to request AIM120Cs. When they run out of Sea Sparrows they will need ESSMs. A single AIM120C missile costs more than a hundred Shahed 136s
Even with the deep pockets of pentagon, this is not sustainable.

2. "best fefense" drone chasing drone, is going to have to be armed with sophisticated avionics to find and track shahed 136s. Again, not sustainable.

Reallistically you need laser point defense systems to deal with this ...and good luck getting that technology ready before the end of this war.
