Saudia vows to stand by Pakistan

the saudi king cannot stand on his own legs, and he vows to stand by us !!
 That's what I was thinking! The Saudis can't even defend themselves! They had stationed 10,000 Pakistani troops on their soil to protect them! Jeeeez!

it sounds sensible but it doesnt work like that. you know when people learn Arabic and translate the Qu'ran literally, they're ridiculed and it is claimed that you cannot translate it literally. the meaning of arabic words (according to scholars) changed from century to century.

Which is why there was a system of education that ensured that the meanings, metaphors relating to the time were recorded and passed on.
For eg.. There is a word now used in parts of lebanon and syria for "seeing".. which is "lu-keir"..
And is accepted as the norm.. although all that it is, is the effect of british rule... the origin of the world being "look here".

The original Quran never had any indentations or the like either.. and the prophet knew that it would be read by people of differing dialects.
In Arabia itself multiple tribes had multiple ways of reading a word.
Which is where your system of "hufaaz" came in. These people ensured that the correct pronunciation was always there.
The whole idea being that each hufaaz would make sure that the others recite it exactly as it has been recited a hundred years before them.
It is a system that has worked, and the Quran has not changed..I state the former to affirm that the Quran itself exists in pronunciation the same way as it did 1400 years ago. So now what of its meanings, people that learn the arabic of today will most likely end up misreading and misinterpreting the Quran.. just as Somebody who speaks normal english would have trouble giving an accurate representation of plays written during Elizabethan times.

To be able to get an idea of what the Quran says, one must know the form of Arabic spoken during the time of the prophet and must also be familar with the metaphors used during those times( syllabi in prominent universities offering islamic studies include studies of the poets of the time during which Quran was revealed and their works...infact the Kaaba had works by these prominent poets posted on its wall regularly during those times).
To be familiar to the people of the times, the Quran uses similar but far more articulate language.
So unless one is familiar with that Arabic and the history of the language then.. it is folly to attempt interpretation.
Although the internet is full of people who have just learned Arabic and are calling themselves Mufti's ..

:S on one hand they are co operating with indians and they say they will stand by us, i mean the preious saudi kings were not tleast hypocrites, but this king abdullah has become hypocrite big time!!

Strange are the ways of this world. It's all about politics my friend!

Remember, in politics there are no permanent friends or foes; only permanent interests. :azn:

Don't you think this just allows people to manipulate religion for their own ends?

Perhaps the meaning of words (within reason) were meant to change with time to allow flexibility, tolerance, and evolution.

If something were a requirement of religion, there would be a clear commandment that is not ambiguous.

Pakistan is neither a majority deobandi or barelvi. Both of them are despised groups of Pakistan. Religion very much spread in Pakistan through Arab invasion therefore the strong holds are still Sunni...
Please get your facts straight and avoid distorting history. The only arab invasion on subcontinent was by Mohammad bin Qasim which didnt go any futher than Sind. The later invasions were mostly by Afghans/Turks/Persian/Mongols none by arabs.

Secondly Islam was not spread by invasions but by tireless efforts of Sufi saints like Data Ganj Bakhsh, Farid Ganj Shakr, Moin ud din chisti etc. So please spare of these lies.

Islam had come to the region long before the invasion of sindh by some arab........ who was killed after his return.

Far from it.. rather it prevents manipulation .. when you know there are certain criteria to be met for interpretations... not every other tom dick and harry will take liberty and become self appointed messiah's.. as is happening today.

Saudi King Abdullah vows to "help Pakistan"

Saudi Arabia’s King Shah Abdullah has vowed not to leave any stone unturned to help Pakistan overcome the crises it is currently facing.

He made this statement on Sunday during a meeting with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman at the Royal Palace in Riyadh.

Sources say the JUI chief discussed regional politics and issues of bilateral interest. Rehman also expressed his grief over the killing of a Saudi diplomat in Pakistan.

Shah Abdullah assured the JUI chief that Saudi Arabia has everlasting ties with Pakistan and will try its level best to help Pakistan in any way it can.

KSA reject WikiLeaks

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has rejected a WikiLeaks cable accusing it and the UAE of financing extremism in southern Punjab.

The Saudi Arabian Foreign ministry has termed the claims baseless allegations.

The cable has revealed that financial support estimated at nearly 100 million US dollars annually was making its way to certain religious organisations in southern Punjab.

WikiLeaks claims the money was being transfered from organisations in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates — with the direct support of those governments to fund extremism and terrorism.

In the cable, Principal Officer at the US Consulate in Lahore Bryan Hunt, refers to mosques and madrassahs run by Deobandi and Ahl-i-Hadith for receiving charity.

We ever should appreciate Saudi cooperation in non religious sectors, if they want to stand by Pakistan in diplomatic, progressive & economical points then they most well come. We should not repeat mistakes we did in relations with Arabic countries.

Dear AzadPakistan2009, Saudis are hell bent on destroying Pakistan economically they know what Pakistan is capable of and what our Resources are in Sindhi, Baluchistan and KPK. But I have a feeling what they are spending on to destroy Pakistan they will get a taste of it themselves before Pakistan that is exactly what happened when we played in Afghanistan along with US so sooner or later all the infestation will return to sicken arabia.

My friend in saudi arab has be told to leave saudi as he has spent more than 6 years, he says strong rumors are (I've heard from multiple sources) the reason is US has told saudis to return all Asians as they could be potential terrorists or people linked to terrorists or religious minded and therefore many of the jobs will not be given to saudis but to americans mostly in fields like engineering and oil sector and perhaps banking. Well I hope CIA creates a good larger al-qaida in saudi arab so they taste it themselves as well.

Islam is good for Pakistan - maybe the arbis should get a good long taste of Islam as well - after all, if it's good for Pakistan, why should it be bad for the arbis of UAE and Arabia?? -- Jee-had fi.... Allah in Arabia is just as good, actually better, than in Bakistan

i can only say no deoandi no sunni no shia no wahabi only only muslim.no matter what saudi wont give up on pakistan help
