India to launch Mars mission next year

lol, i have saved this funny thread, to see how will it turn out next, but my bet again it is going to be another laughing stock

pehle GSLV ki suhagraat to banwa lo mere pyare ISRO. mars ke honeymoon ko baad main decide karna. But good luck. I am really concerned about the GSLV launch this year. with our Cryogenic tech on board.
 
I am sorry. China's long march 3 with several times of GTO load than the yet to complete GSLV can't reach Mars. China had to rely on Russian rocket which failed miserably. China is off on Mars mission until Long March 5 is ready.

Now, which rocket does India plan to use? Don't tell me it is PSLV which is only for light weight satellite launch.

we'll be launching a satelite to the mars using PSLV launch vehicle which will carry a meagre payload of 25 kg .i am not sure though.

Ridiculous. What can you do with 25kg? A proper explorer will need at least a sensor, a receiver, a camera, solar battery, and a signal emitter which sends information back to earth. The emitter needs to be powerful enough for the signal to travel back. Then you need at least a competent integration system for all the above. 25kg???? Might as well just launch a missile at the mars and see if it gets there. What does that accomplish?

u have no knowledge of space. u dont need a big launcher to launch a satellite. its not a moon mission.
currently china has a max operational capacity of 12500-13000, next gen rockets come in 2014. if gslv mk3 is successfull we will have max capacity of 10000 not that much difference. and yes all other future launches are with indian cryogenic engine. and the gslv mk3 with also increase payload capacity by adding 2 more boosters on the sides to 20000 kg

u will get to know when we launch... innovation is something we dont lack..unless few others..so whatever the weight 25 or more launch will be for some useful purpose..

20000 Great....China only has 13000...wish GSLV all the best.
 
Wikipedia says the LEO payload of your GSLV is 5000 kg. The LEO payload of Long March 3B is 12,000 kg (a bit higher with 3B/E). I don't know where you are getting the 10,000kg data. Your source?

Also, are you saying a moon mission will need a bigger launcher than a Mars mission?

wow dude i really cant imagine india going that big into nanotech. we could turn a 2 tonne satellite into 25 kg. loll its a big satllite with some kind of propelling engine on it coz it has to propell itself to mars

If we are talking about rockets that are not yet operational, the Long March 5 has LEO payload of 25,000. The GSLV has only confirmed data of 5,000 LEO. Show me sources that say 20,000.
