Agent Vinod banned in Pakistan

You're wrong. Indian movies were banned in Pakistan after 1965. And yes, they were banned fully. My point was, banning the bollywood has never worked. It just screwed the Pakistan film industry and lowered the number of cinema halls in Pakistan and nothing else.

Pakistani artists would prefer bollywood. They have good talent and we have a good platform. They just can't get this kind of opportunity in lolwood. And that's a fact.
how r they banned if they are played in movie theatres? lollywood isnt the only kind of entertainment we have, here is what most of the artists do, taking meesha shafi as an example, started as a small singer from lahore, joined a band after university, started a solo career, went into pakistan fashion industry, stepped into pakistani dramas and now working on hollywood, bollywood and lollywood movies and singing/modeling

So very right on the bold part.. Folks who are knocking Pakistani entertainment industry, need to watch some of the drama serials coming out of Pakistan.. I remember my 1st ones as Dhoop Kinaare and Tanhaiyan.. Havent seen any other from across the world coming any way near those in terms of storyline, depth and screenplay..

Pakistan entertainment industry in my view should focus on building on this strength, rather than trying to ape bollywood style movies.. Just my 2 cents.. No disrespect..
indian version of dhoop kinaare is coming soon

Lol. Didn't we all expect it?

I bet no one even bought the tickets, cause they knew it would be banned. Hell, even Tere Bin Laden, a comedy movie was not allowed, no chance for Agent Vinod.

In a country where 35000 people died because of the fact that we were helping the nation which was after OBL do you expect such movie to be shown in Cinema. Tere bin laden was a good movie. and eventhough it was banned many saw it on cable and dvd. But showing it in theater could have lead to a mishap.

2ndly Is pakistan the only nation which ban movies... ?? all the nations where they feel appropriate do this kind of stuff...

Why would they ban that? They think bebo isn't good looking enough to be an ISI agent or something?

lol mate..i guess they are miffed bcoz its bebo an ISI agent not Saif..IDK whats there problem.the movie is about the cooperation between RAW and ISI...which itself clearly states that its the pure work of fiction..script writers imaginations flying high then Aaman ki Asha..master stroke.. :P

Lol I bet most of the Pakistanis will be watching pirated ones now or downloading from torrent!
But lets keep jealousy aside, looks a decent movie to me and lol@ people calling it a 007 rip off already before it is released!
Btw bad news for bollywood obsessed Pakistanis!

Indian films were banned after 1965 and "partly" ban is lifted from 2006 i.e. after 40 years. Please check your facts my friend.

Pakistan waives 40-year ban on Bollywood films - Telegraph

So we're back to square one where you're suggesting to ban Indian movies in Pakistan. My point still stands that even after banning the bollywood for 40 years your film industry couldn't do anything worth mentioning. It just died its own death. In fact it would be better to have Indian films in Pakistan so as to increase the competition among Pakistani film makers. Moreover, Pakistanis love our films which is quite evident.

lollywood isn't the only kind of entertainment we have

I'm not disputing that mate. Lolwood make just about 15 films per year, so obviously you have to have other options for entertainment.

im gonna have to support the indian peeps on this one...lollywood films are garbage, embarassing, and awfully sleazy. i have never watched a complete lollywood film my life as they r so sleazy and trashy that our parents never brought them home. however as i grew older my curiosity led me to explore a bit of lollywood here and there and i realized why no one watches them. most pple in pak watch bollywood films and altho its not the most cinematically, artistically or technologically gifted industry. they are very advanced and a handful of films are stellar.

indian films these days, at least the good big budget ones are made for a global audience, not just an indian 1 like some posters have claimed. it would be financial suicide for not to have the global and even pakistani audience in mind while making these films.

after reading the synopsis that some of the posters have given about Agent Vinod being about a RAW agent and ISI agent cooperating i feel that the intention for making this film were not negative or meant to be offensive to pakistanis. infact i think it would be an extension of good relations, if the film is indeed how some of u have described. it was likely a couple lines, references or characterizations in the film about ISI or pakistanis which led to a ban. overall i say lets take it lightly, but the message of the film is the main thing that the censor board needs to take into account, not 1 or 2 characterizations or dialogues taken out of context. i think the indian censor board does this too and makes filmmakers edit out certain things. so annoying.
i think films like Gadar, Main Hoon Na, and most of sunny deols films should be banned as they are outright spew hatred on pakistanis and play up patriotism by demonizing pakistanis. All if not most of the pakistani characters in these films will be negative. Films about pakistan such as Veer Zaara however, are more than welcome here! although they did show a few pakistanis as negative characters this was balanced out by the positively portrayed protagonists preity and rani.

Sorry dude, You forget the economics part of it. By not releasing in pakistan, Indian director are loosing 5-6 Crores. Its money ppl love. 5-6 cr is big amount.

Bollywood has all reason to be obsessed of Pakistan market. :)

Yesterday watched movie "Kahaani" It was awesome. But believe me my film is 100 times better than Kahaani.

wonder how they'll portray them.....

probably some lean guy with a long 4 foot beard, a khaki shalwaar and some demon-looking facial expressions.

am i somewhat on point here?

How about a character based on the smiling & blissful baby faced Mumtaz Qadri (Serial Lawyer Kisser :) )? That would be pretty close to the fact.
