I live in bangalore And I know the truth of this thread. There are many Foreigner working in Indian companies. They love staying here. To know India one has to live in India. A tourist can not know India.

for Tourists : Goa means masti, you can enjoy hell in Goa, Full beer (Vodka,Wine etc and full sun bath), Good food and economical stay.

For Medical tourists : India provides world class medical facility at very low cost. My American friends amazed if I say them By-Pass surgery will cost under lakh (2000USD) in India, Thats too from good hospital. Our Pakistani brothers too come and enjoy our medical tourism

For life style: In same money Americans can enjoy better life in India. In same money they can have 5 start facility. Now In India everything is available. So western guys love to live here.

@finally: Indians are free minded, we accept every one. Be it Persian, Jews, Sythian, huns, or Western.. :)

but i hate the pollution and crowds...
Tell me with 3 crore rupees , can you have a great lief style in bangalore including buying a house in good place etc

You can surely buy 2BHK apartment with 35-40 lakh Rupees in Bangalore at good place. The climate is Good, city is clean and the only problem is the traffic.

I have some germans and many africans living in my city . Infact they all reside at a radius of about 2 km from my house .
Looking at these negroes i feel for them . I mean they are all poor and work very very hard for their living .

Overall Indian don't care what foreigners feel and see in India. There is no effort from Indians to treat them better or show them the 'good side'.

Foreign tourists also find India very tough, foreign workers find India the toughest destination to live and work in, also the hardship allowance paid to foreigners to live in a country is very high for India.

Certainly some people find India charming and that love affair has lasted centuries, but thats some people. The regular tourist or business traveller finds India very tough.

Thats just how it is. While we don't need foreign workers, we need foreign tourists. There's a need to change the infra, train the people etc etc, but all this is waaaayyyyyy low on the govt list, if there's a list.

foreign workers bring in much needed expertise... we need to learn from them.

While some highly qualified foreigners may get good jobs in India and have a very good life, most westerners would have a hard time dealing with traffic, pollution, inadequate infrastructure, bureaucracy etc. Also real estate prices in places like Mumbai are not cheap; for the cost of a decent apartment in Mumbai, you could get a palace in a place like Austin, Texas or Portland, Oregon.

A person of Indian origin with good technical qualifications will probably have a better lifestyle in India than in America. That is why many Indians are coming back to India. But for westerners it may or may not make sense to live in India.
