KARACHI: After over a decade, famous silver screen actor Shabnam returned to Pakistan from Bangladesh on Monday night. She was warmly welcomed by hordes of excited fans and media personnel.
Shabnam, accompanied by her husband, renowned music composer Robin Ghosh, expressed her joy at coming back to the country that brought her fame. The couple, originally belonging to parts in former East Pakistan, had shifted to Bangladesh at the end of the 20th century.
“I’ll try to meet everyone,” the actor told the media on being asked whether she will meet her former colleagues in the country. She further expressed sorrow over the closure of Pakistani film studios.
When asked if she would consider working for Pakistani films again, Shabnam didn’t sound too sure.
On the insistence of some media personnel, Shabnam sang a line from one of the songs filmed on her.
According to a report by Dawn, Shabnam is returning to the country to be a part of a show organised by Pakistan Television to honour the couple for their contribution to Pakistani films.

omg that's so crazy bangladeshi born comes to pakistan achieves success then returns to her motherland in her later years and now she's back she's called BD her "birth" mother and pakistan her "adopted" mother and this return occurs at a time when bengali-pakistani relations are at all time low maybe she can be a peacebroker or something. It's good to see her visit pak again :agree:

wow i was just abt to make a thread on it....

i was not born when she was working but i have seen her movies & some actresses copying her now a days...really great actress...

just Imaginary name on hollywood theme...

Lahore & Mumbai are good name itself, why spoiling them with funny names..

u mean we should name our industry as lahoriwood or mubaiwood or something?

u know i guess we name it with the hame hollywood to gain international recognition.
but amazingly i have never seen other countries naming there industry with hollywood other than Pakistan or india...:D

I guess he means, if Kashmir by any chance (lnshallah) liberated some day...:cheesy: but KALIwood not suit them either...:(

But Dollywood look more nice...for Dhakawood...IS there any wood in our Bangladesh (filmIndustry name)?

Does anybody remeber this song singer Akhlaq Ahmad and musican same Robin Ghosh

Sona na Chandi na koi Mehal...
There was a time, I was almost tired of this song bcz PTV used to play this song once per week.On the other hand NTM was playing all the young generation songs like Ali Haider and vital sign.
Now, I can realise the real worth of these songs.
