AMCA Update

Sancho is a much respected Senior Member on this forum.............He has proved himself capable time and again.......
I would suggest you respect him a little more and read carefully what he has written......
Try thinking from the brain instead of the heart this time....

LMAO!! does that troll sancho needs u to babysit him? ;)

Sancho is 2 takke ka chor with zero brains. He was badly defeated, on his flawed propaganda against DRDO & LCA team in LCA thread many times. Go and check it. since then he is running with excuses, now he appeared here.

This is same sancho who used to say that GTRE is not part of DRDO. when exposed, later he changed his tune.

sancho = Mr.Troll_of_LCA_thread.

china's j10 took almost 20 yrs. rafale took almost 18 yrs and eurofighter same. if tejas even tool 25 yrs just imagine wht we have gained in this project..

LCA project is not 25 years old. It started in 1989. Plus subtract the years of sanction and Mulayam singh's "close LCA project" order. This project is less than 20 years old and achieved IOC. Its a world record and our best kept open secret.

and don't waste ur time on sancho, he is a nutcase.

 That's the best part for me, when I leave the trolls (India, US, Chinese or Pakistani) without arguments and all they have is baseless barking, personal attacks and a lot of smilies to distract. I argue with facts and leave the rest to the mods.

Here's a new image of India's Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) with a view of its weapons bay with beyond visual range weapons, and the bay door mechanism.

If AMCA doesn't meet LCA fate , what is the expected date for the first prototype roll out?

2015-2016. anyways u cant compare it with lca. this plane will be out in nxt 3 yrs, just like lch which was in flight in just 2.5 yrs after development started and funds arrived. its not 1980s india anymore kid.

The design for the LCA was completed in 1990s, full funding on 1993, and the first prototype came out in 1995. So the prototype came out in a good time. The program got into trouble when India was hit with sanctions because of the nuclear bomb and also technical problems.

First of all i am not a kid , secondly LCA is relevant because it completely reflects India's indigenous technological capabilities in jet making. Thirdly post a link about the possible roll out in 2015-2016. Fourthly even if it is true even though it is too good to be , AMCA would be far from being a "Truly" Indian fighter jet as India has just ditched its jet engine program which means procurement of jet engines from Russia or a JV with the French which means jet heat signatures can either be stolen or bought by hostile countries ie China which means it would be a flying duck for enemy missiles both BVR and SAMs.

Fifthly India is still "totally" dependent on Israel , France and Russia for Avionics , Radar , ejection seats , refuling probes , MMI , ECM , EW , Targeting pods , navigation hardware , helmet mounted sights and mother of all - Air to air armament both close range and beyond visual range plus "precision land attack munitions".

I wonder how India is going to make all of the above issues possible "on its own" in 4-5 years to make an "Indian AMCA" not an aircraft fitted with imported parts like LCA.

Lastly , how India is going to meet 4S standards for a fifth generation air craft "on its own" - without foreign help considering that it hasn't been able to develop a 4th generation aircraft "on its own" even in 30 years?

4S standards

1: Stealth== Indian Experience ?
2: Supercruise== Indian Experience with "high thrust" engines ?
3: Super maneuverability == How AMCA would meet this Requirement without a potent engine and aerodynamic design?
4: Sensor fusion === How India is going to do that in 4 years when it can't even develop 4th gen avionics on its own?

PS: This is a serious question , people with chauvinistic mentality of "we can do it" in four years out of no where are not expected to reply.

I don't think this was posted here.

HALBIT - Next Generation Cockpits and Avionics from defence expo 2012

We might see something like this in the AMCA cockpit.

The poster behind it seems to have a chubby AMCA.

Is that an excuse ? - China has been under consistent military sanctions for over 3 decades !
They pulled off - Mig-21 variants , exported in large numbers , K-8 produced with Pakistan 500+ sold to 14 countries , J-10A , JF-17 , J-10B , J-11B , J-15 , J-20 and now F-60 in works. That is excluding the transport , EW , AWACs , helis etc they have produced.

The issue i can see in India has more to do with bureaucracy than R&D.

the design of amca has already been frozen, if u compare the model of amca in 2011 airshow and the latest official cad images, they r 100% similiar.
second india ia now not dependent on any foreign country for avionics. from radar to helmet mounted display to the friend or foe system and the fbw control everything in lca is now replaced by indian avionics. only 2 avionivs are foreign out of 35. even the ejection seat in the production model will be replaced by indian built one. u need to update urself.

third propulsion of the plane will be foreign and india will receive help either from russia as russia also has a 5th gen project with india or france. but most prolly russia.

stealth, india is a not behind any country in designing stealthy machines, hal lch and entire new fleet indian navy is made up of stealthy machines. indian engineers and designers now have thorough understanding of angles and curves involved in making stuff stealthy. india is also a world leader in material sciences. if we can make kanchan armour and heat shielding tiles on our own, surely we can make radar deflecting materials. work on it is already on.

manouveribility is a design issue and u dont need to worry about that. all trained plane engineers know about this and india has good quality wind tunnels for testing. btw if u carefully see the design the plane is not designed to be supermaneuverabe, it is semi maneuverabe.

india has already developed and inducted its bvr missile named astra and we got brahmos too:)

sensor fusion is one thing which will take a long time to develop, only usa truly has it yet. india neither has the capability not the brains nor the research for it. hopefully we r able to pull it off.

^Stop wasting my time with "speculative" posts , i have deep study on Indian aviation & i surely don't want to turn this thread into a troll fest by posting stuff other than technology. My questions are simple and i need simple but specific and satisfactory answers not speculation on what India is able to or not able to do.

When is Astra expected to become operational? Post info on seekers & warhead if you do have.

Then you have to consult the people who are actually working on the project. You can't expect to get anything beyond speculation on open internet forums, and certainly not on this one. If you have done "deep studies" as you claim, then you should know that much.

So if time is that valuable to you, and your study is as deep as you claim, then I suggest you consult the design team, instead of lurking around on PDF. I'm sure that a person who has done so much study on these things will have contacts in high places in the aviation industry, and won't need inputs from mere mortals here on PDF.

Some say the seeker is from Russia some say Europe. I don't know for sure.

anyways one thing is for sure that is HAl will not make the mistake of delaying this project like LCA becoz there is lot of things at stake for it and armed forces will lose belife in HAl.
so may be 8 yrs
