CRPF COBRAs: The Real HEROES-VIDEO

Does anyone else feel IG of COBRA makes A LOT of references to US Marines? And is it a coincidence that the COBRA's standard camo is the USMC's MARPAT? Don't get me wrong the MARPAT camo is excellent for the AOs that COBRA work in just an observation.

Why is that chubby dude wearing US Army camo ?

Yes I found this odd too, I understand the use of MARPAT but the US Army's UCP seems unessercary and that it only seems to be worn by him is doubly weird! Maybe his MARPAT was at the dry cleaners??!!

+btw he is the IG of COBRA so doesn't actually go out on ops with the guys, just wanted to show off for the cameras and have some fun with an active unit I guess hence you see him taking part in training-clearly hasn't done it for some time judging by his panting!!

These all IPS officers are made head of NSG,COBRA etc...have no experience in counter insurgency and talk as if they have won wars for India.

Much more talented and battle proven officers in the IA are sent on staff postings they could easily lead a unit like COBRA and NSG in a much better way...Pathetic...In the 1st video he is giving orders like a "senapati from mahabharat".

All the equipment, gears and all is fine but they should work a little harder before comparing themselves with Marines in every dialogue...Wearing cool camo doesnt guarantee of anything and this fat dude needs to be told that the best in jungle warfare get trained in CIJWS...Even the Gorkhas are better in Jungle Warfare forget comparing with Marcos and Para.

I think they are too loud for a SF...but anyways whole episode looked choreographed.

Cobra sometimes doesn't use their uniform..most of the times,I saw them in T-shirt and trousers...

Sometimes they will operate out of unifomr but this looks to be an old pic anyway.

actually,i found 4-5 pics, but some reason after uploading,it isn't working..when Cobra operated at purulia in WB,almost all the times I saw them operating in casual dress..most times in t shirt and sports trousers..

I think this is highly . The Indian government does not get outsiders to train their forces and if they were going to for the COBRAS why would they go for the USMC?? For the COBRA force USMC trainers seem totally inappropriate as COBRAs are not a military unit and are not going to be launching maritime/amphibious operations. As said in the vid again and again the COBRA's only AO is the jungles and the USMC are hardly experts in this field. In fact IMHO Indian forces are far more suitable as all Indian SOFs (and even the infantry to an extent) are mult-disciplined and are experts in operating in any environment especially jungles and the IA has one of the finest Jungle warfare schools on earth-CIJWS.Maybe just watched too many Hollywood flicks or something.

you should see the cobra command centre at civil lines, delhi. Its all pretty hush hush..when i went last year, the place was disguised as some other building. The op centre looks like something out of a western spy flick .
