Indian politicians get life term for involvement in Gujarat riots

^^ true, to a large extent Sikhs in India have decided to move on and be part of the Indian growth story and make their own little contribution where possible. But I'm sure the scars remain and the pain is not too far below the surface. I too have fith in the Indian judiciary and hope that the target the perpeatotrs of '84 sooner rather than later.

May be for the first time in Indian history the top Babu, Neta & General are all Sikhs...if not now ..When?

..but yes, Sikhs have moved on...and I respect them for that.

Its not a final verdict so calm down.... anything will happen in future:smokin:.

The 1984 victims are still waiting justice.

Wait for BJP to come to power , these congress scumbags will stall it as long as possible....They must have made Manmohan the PM just to appease in that area................

Its not a supreme court verdict dear even they have to appeal for high court or they seek to re-enqire whole case. They having many options , are you really living in India?.

Noone is given capital punishment ...so Presidential pardon is out of question..but I am sure that the conviction will be challenged in High & Supreme Court.

These were the first televised riots in the country, and visuals of burnt houses and frightened victims shocked the nation. When the '84 riots happened, the only news channel we had was doordarshan, run by the GoI. That is why the gujarat riots got a lot more attention, and remained longer public memory, and became etched in the collective public consiousness. That is why people were able to pursue justice relentlessly for the victims of the gujarat riots.

It has nothing to do with vote bank politics, because such considerations do not enter the minds of the indian judiciary, who do not survive on popular votes.

There is no end to this even after the conviction in such high numbers as long as Gujarat is progressing & Modi remains at the helm. It's not justice to the victims that the so called flag bearers of secular India are after...

Yet, kasab sits around and eat biryani. The convicttion is good news if it s factually based not based on politics(Congress). Anyway, politicans and criminals in jail still have access to everything we have outside. I hope they are put up in a prison in a different state. Money, drugs, cellphones, etc can be garnerd in prisons just as easily but more easier in their hom state.

Does anybody else find it curious that not a single pakistani has commented on this thread so far, although this is apparently an issue so close to their hearts?

This is always the case for any positive threads relating to India are suspiciously lacking in their presence. India devloping pic thread is the same 260+ pages, ~4000 posts and only a handful of Pakistani members' comments.

One again i see a light of Hope in my beloved Country.

Today Indian Judiciary has prooved that nothing is more Important than the Honour & prestige of the Constitution of India.

Jai Hind.....
