Why Indian SSN/SSBNs are Superior to Chinese ones?

China's "SSN" nuclear-powered attack submarines:

- Type 095
- Type 093
- Type 091.

Please show me the ones built by India so we can compare. Oh wait...

Show me the sound level of the above classes.

So we can compare that with Indian classes?

And Type 094 can target most of the Earth's surface from within Chinese territorial waters.

Funny how the Indians here find it so easy to call things junk when they can't even make it themselves.

No wonder Bangladesh now has faster economic growth than India.

Its true that China has long range missiles that can target any part of the planet as of today. However, you dont need submarines to do that. If your subs are gonna remain in Chinese territorial waters and launch missiles, you might as well do that from destroyers, frigates or through TELs. The purpose of submarines is to cruise into enemy territory and wreak havoc. If your subs are gonna be noisy then they are at a serious disadvantage. So the question is not how far those missiles can travel, but how effective those submarines themselves will be. For example, what if one of your submarines is sunk before it can launch one of those missiles?

But this however does not undermine Chinese strength. Those subs are still a threat.

Hey where does that comparative illustration come from ? On what empirical evidence was it based ?

The US report I think was based on monitoring Chinese movements in the Pacific. Because the Chinese navy has been undertaking more and more combat patrols in that region, it seems.

Tell me where did you get your data on the actual noise level of Chinese SSN's which operate within Chinese territorial waters?

And I'm talking about actual data, not wild speculation.

You failed to prove hat it is a 'Wild Speculation'.

Read from the start again.

China has the edge in both quality and quantity, AFAIK they have more than 64 subs while we're having about 12. And we can't say anything about Arihant as none of the data is public yet. Just physical resemblance isn't enough to conclude it's sonar signature.

The title could have been India owned subs or Russian subs vs Chinese subs, we don't yet have our own till the scorpenes and the Arihant's arrive.

We don't have any SSN program in the pipeline, neither i think it's strategically that important. As nuclear reactor driven engine tends to be more noisy then Diesel electric. So, for a submarine hunter role, i'd prefer a diesel electric with AIP submarine and SSBN's for long range strikes.

SSKs cannot venture out of few hundred Nautical Miles out of its base.
