Pakistan faces 26/11 everyday: Mani Shankar Aiyar

@Joe Shearer - lease tell me I'm a brown shirt / half chaddi as well. :coffee:

Not you, you are just a mad Bawa. Now shut up, Doc. This business of springing briskly into action with total ignorance of the issues involved would be hilariously side-splitting if your clown prince friends were not so deathly serious in thinking that their little schoolboyish discussion on a Pakistani defence forum represents the ultimate in serious political discussion.

No one said its easy, but there got to be a starting point somewhere. That is one of the difference between you and me. I'm willing to take the first step while you are comfortable sitting thinking the people will decide, why should I ?

p.s.: The inane attempt at sarcasm is noted and duly ignored.

What first step? Blowing off steam in the forum of PDF?

The problem with this attempt at energetic intervention is that making recommendations in this forum is hardly likely to influence the Indian electorate. What do you think you are achieving? Apart from giving yourself the impression that you are working furiously hard in the cause of Indian democracy.

Sarcasm is sometimes the only way to penetrate a thick hide.

I'm so happy its happening in Pakistan....i wish they continue to do

Take a guess ;)

I don't know. There is a cloth tied between what seems to be a street light pole and another slant pole.

Dude, do not always assume the Hindutva version is right by default. See it and then believe it. It is not Hinduism vs Islam any more. This is 21st century. And you would be doing injustice to your mental faculties if you blindly go with beliefs.

No mate...I did not post it in a Hindu vs Muslim thing. Just to say that whatever "the Hindu" says need not be correct by default and even those who profess Hindutva may speak truth sometimes.

Regarding the 21st century..I know clearly where my belief ends and rational thought starts. Thank you.

I do not understand. What is wrong with 'The Hindu' photos? Nobody could prove them as fake yet.

I know those who profess Hindutva may speak truth sometimes. I am just concerned about their intentions. Even if, say, I am willing to take it for granted that Babri was built over a temple, why should they or anyone want to demolish it? Because they want a win for Hinduism; for something that happened centuries ago. Do you disagree?

As much as I have feelings for Hindu heritage, I cannot accept that ideology. I would rather stand outside the mosque, place my hand over its silhouette and touch my hand to my forehead.

Keep waiting for "tact and sensitive handling" when you dont have an iota of knowledge of what they are.

I have some ideas. I am willing to discuss it with people, listen to their counterpoints and then refine the ideas while you are not. You know only one thing - finding fault with others. You dont have any alternate solutions. See post # 107..that of @my2cents'. He did not agree with mine. But he clearly spoke out what his reservations are, how some of the points are impractical and why he opposes them - all in a clear and a concise manner w/o any excess verbiage. That is how online discussions should be. Not this high-horse riding, pompous, anarchistic bullshit. Yes, I said bullshit.

++++++++++1

Think cow-belt wrestler?

Wow !! Samajwadi? Must have been really impressed with you if they are planning to import from Bengal? Or maybe you impressed Akhilesh Yadav with your kannada.

I think he was referring to this

Brown shirt is a reference to Nazis.

Oops.!! Why didn't I think of that? Need more sleep...... way too much Khaki shorts discussion here....seems to have clogged up my head...:hitwall:

Tehelka is hardly a credible piece and if you are aware there are many "kum kum" and "turmeric" sprinkled stone idols all over India being worshipped...in street corners..under peepal trees etc. Many Nagakanya, Nagalakshmi idols in my place are just cylindrical structures of stone.

And the writer clearly errs when she says the Nirmohis "somehow" came up with the idea of a demolished temple when the ASI has clearly and irrefutably proved the existence of temple ruins beneath the mosque. She tries to equate the denial of permission to worship on the Char Minar to allowing worship outside the Char Minar. Likewise many unintentional or intentional errors.

But she also gives a pointer to the communal politics of MIM to inculcate a fear psychosis among the Muslims..

p.s.: So many unrelated posts in a single thread...damn the idiotic policy to restrict posting on each other's walls;;:hitwall:

Even though it happened centuries ago, it was never accepted by the people and there were numerous localized attempts throughout the entire time span to recapture Ayodhya and reconstruct the temple there. It was not a issue that started in the 90s or even 40s..It started long back..Mate, Ayodhya is non-negotiable. Period. I may be brought around to the point that the way in which the structure was taken down can be condemned..but never to the point that the structure needs to be standing there. It simply had to go..one day or other. What could have been done is an organized way of shifting the structure some distance away and a temple built there like it was done in Somnath. That is the best solution I could think of.

Surely those guys at Tahrir Square who toppled a 30 year regime through extensive use of facebook would disagree.

Welcome to 21st century.

BTW nothing we discuss here according to you has any influence on the outside world...so why not shut down the forum and each get back to his/her work...what a dumb logic (or lack of it)
