A better question would be: "Does any Muslim have the power to modify core Islamic beliefs?"

Because that is what the Ahmedis were, and still are doing. So yes, it is their right.

And besides, at least they aren't demanding it through AK-47's and RPG-7's. The pen is mightier than the sword.

Those Shahbaghis along with their nashtik allies will incur the wrath of the Mujaheddin, whether you like it or not. It is inevitable.

None have the power to modify the core of Islam. If anyone doesn't believe that Mohammad (PBUH) is the last prophet, than they are not Muslim .
There are some nashtik among Shahbaghis, but to call all Shahbaghis nastik is a bit extreme. Its a sin you know to call people nastik because of few bad apples.

It is impossible for me to say how proud I am to see the people of BD rising like this. An apolitical organisation has stepped in to defend Islam against the BAL scums and their masters from accross the border when the official opposition has been systematically castrated by this unelected autocratic antimuslim fascist government.

The people of BD waited silently whist every piller of democracy was torn down by BAL, they watched dumbstruck when the national consciousness was dragged through the gutter by directive of a foreign power, they watched in horror as blood coloured the streets of our cities whilst BAL scums tried to stage manage and invent an alien narrative for our country and then out of dispair came today.... Disciplined determined resolve.... A mere stirring of disapproval.... Let BAL pay heed push the nation any further down a path that goes against the very fabric of the soul of our nation, nothing on earth will save them from being crushed underfoot....

BAL supposedly believes in democracy well people power was in full show today and their delusions of grandeur in stage manged shabagh movement must have left a bitter taste. BAL played their hand and resoundedly lost. BD and it's people stands united, free and true to Islam.

Shahriar Kabir one of the vanguard and spokesperson of Awami League-atheist anti Islam bloc was given a chase by Hefajat crowd in Mohakhali area. Shahriar Kabir even enjoying backing of ruling anti Islam Awami League bloc took shelter in a barber shop.

yes pen is mightier than any weapon. for example- mongols destroyed heart of islamic world - baghdad. do you know what do historians think about that invasion? ' first time in history land conquered conquerors , - islam was saved by those central asian horse riders who later created mighty islamic empire of ottomans ' - this is how ideology works.

Off topic, but could not help correcting some historical facts:

1. Mongols and Ottoman Turks were not related
2. Ottoman Turks descend from Oghuz Turks from present day Kazakhstan:
Seljuq dynasty - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sultanate of Rum - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
History of the Ottoman Empire - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
3. Mughals on the other hand were directly related to Mongols who settled down in Central Asia after Mongol invasion, Babur's father was Timurid (descent from Timur Lang) and mother was Chingisid (descent from Chingis Khan)

the mughals were an abomination to islam bar aurongzeb

Mughals did carry Mongol Chingisid heritage of Yassa:
Yassa - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

But few people know that Mughals were instrumental in spreading Islam in Bengal as a by product of clear cutting forested land and creating a rice producing bread basket for their Indian empire:
The Rise of Islam and the Bengal Frontier, 1204

Bakhtiyar Khilji started the era of Muslim rule in Bengal, but Mughal rule created the Muslim majority in Bengal unlike other areas of India. If we are to be grateful for this independent Muslim country called Bangladesh, the gratefulness for creating this independent nation should be reserved for these historical figures, regardless of their personal idiosyncrasies.

If AL-organized Shahbaghis are not Nastik, why should they defend the Nasitks? Since after 1971 AL has been systematically propagating Bangali nationalism. But, this nationalism is weired and wrong because it leaves no scope to be compatible with Islam, as if, since we are Bangalis, therefore, we should shun Islam.

Considering their mindset, Awami Leaguers are all Nastik or Murtad. This party should be banned because the values this party accepts as its own are not compatible with the religion that is followed by the majority. Moreover, AL mandate ended after 1971 war. It was trying to bring about a new mandate by hanging the war criminals, guilty or not, but this has backfired on its face, fortunately.

Govt must accept 13 points if wants to stay in office: Hefajat chief

Dhaka (RTNN/ UNB): Claiming that their ongoing movement is apolitical, Hefajat-e Islam Bangladesh ameer Shah Ahmad Shafi on Saturday said the government must accept their 13-point demand if it wants to stay in power.

In a written statement, the Islamic leader said, “Our current movement is not political. It’ll (govt) have to agree to our 13-point demand in order to continue in office.”

The Hefajat ameer demanded immediate arrest and punishment of the atheist bloggers, and quick enactment of a law ensuring punishment of those who defamed Islam and Prophet Mohammad (pbuh).

On behalf of Ahmad Shafi, his son and Hefajat-e Islam publicity affairs secretary Anas Madani read out the statement at a post-long march grand rally in the capital’s Motijheel.

Terming the government ‘anti-Islamist’, Ahmad Shafi said, “A mass uproar has been created across the country. If the demands are not met, the movement will be getting from tough to tougher. The consequence of the anti-Islamic government will be horrible.”

The Hefajat chief warned the ruling Awami League of dire consequences if it tries to foil their ongoing movement.

Pointing finger at the Shahbagh Ganajagoron movement, he urged the devout Muslims to get ready to embrace martyrdom to stop the anti-Islamic movement.

Mentioning that immediate action was taken for making indecent remarks against the Prime Minister, the Hefajat ameer lamented that there is no effort visible to take action against those making offensive remarks against Allah and his Massager.

He alleged that the government is weaving plots to bring in foreigners to root out Islam in the name of combating terrorism and militancy.

Hefajat-e Islam representatives and Islamic scholars from different parts of the country also addressed the mammoth rally.

Accusing the government of giving shelter to anti-Islamic forces, he said, “They (govt) will face dire consequences if they continue to do so.”

Mentioning that devout Muslims are now facing various difficulties in all mosques across the country, the Hefajat chief demanded the government ensure a congenial atmosphere in mosques, including the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.

The 13 points of the Islamist group:

1. Restore the phrase ‘Complete faith and trust in the Almighty Allah’ in the constitution and repeal all the laws contrary to the holy Quran and Sunnah.

2. Pass a law in parliament keeping a provision of the maximum punishment of death sentence to prevent defaming Allah, Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) and Islam and smear campaigns against Muslims.

3. Take measures for stringent punishment against self-declared atheists and bloggers, led the so-called Shahbagh movement, and anti-Islamists who made derogatory remarks against the Prophet.

4. Stop infiltration of all alien-culture, including shamelessness in the name of individual’s freedom of expression, ant-social activities, adultery, free mixing of male and female and candle lighting.

5. Make Islamic education mandatory from primary to higher secondary levels canceling the anti-Islamic women policy and anti-religion education policy.

6. Officially declare Qadianis (Ahmadiyyas) as non-Muslim and stop their propaganda and all conspiratorial ill-moves.

7. Stop setting up sculptures at intersections, schools, colleges and universities across the country.

8. Lift restriction on saying payers in all mosques across the country, including Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, without any hassle and remove obstacles to carrying out religious activities.

9. Stop evil efforts to spread hatred in the mind of young generation regarding Islam through the misrepresentation of religious dresses and cultures in the media.

10. Stop anti-Islam activities by NGOs across the country, including in the Chittagong Hill Tracts, and evil attempts of Christian missionaries for conversion.

11. Stop attacks, mass killing, oppression and indiscriminate shooting on Alem-Ulama, devout followers of the Prophet and towhidi janata (revolutionary people).

12. Stop threatening teachers and students of Qawmi madrasas, Islamic scholars, imams and khatibs and conspiracies against them.

13. Free immediately all the arrested Islamic scholars, madrasa students and towhidi janata and withdraw all false cases filed against them, compensate the victims and bring the assailants to justice.

That's some really good points which will make Bangladesh to go more closer to their roots, however I don't see anything about freeing jamat war criminals. Aren't they against the trial of war criminals?

Congratulations and Salam to the silent majority of Bangladesh, finally you have woken up. Now lets see if you, the silent majority, can finish the job, put Awami League, the anti-Islam party of Bangladesh, out of power for good using non-violent protests and using the ballot box. The entire country and her well wishers will be waiting for that glorious and auspicious day.

Here on, this picture symbolizes Bangladesh national identity and discourse

….yes. Long March on April the 6th proved so beyond any reasonable doubt…

Long March further corrected the followings, too

• Islamic ‘Chetona’ stands supreme preceding Muktijuddho ‘Chetona’
• Above ‘Chetonas’ are complimentary----not conflicting as was touted around by miscreants with nefarious design hurting the feelings of overwhelming “Silent Majority” since the Independence Struggle was fought in ‘71
• Bangladesh nationalism does not stand upon the premise of Language or Geographical boundary, but on “Freedom of respective religion based on mutual respect” as had been the historical tradition of this landmass since time immemorial
• As the unmistakable ‘Guardian’ of the nation, HI set----on behalf of the Silent Mass----the standard of “not-to-be done” by whoever desires to retain or re-gain the “State Power”. That is why HI did not show any leniency to any camp in the rally---and did this “fine and difficult” task brilliantly.

Effectively, Long March drove the ‘mischief makers’ to the defensive. It reminds me the legendary “Tokai” on the run shouting: ‘I am lucky. He just could kick me on the back only, but I scoot before he could call me ‘Stupid’

While ballot is some way in distance, first and foremost task is to free Muslim majority from 43 year old grip of secular atheist attack and imposition. Let's see movement can stay above nefarious attack from anti Islam Indo-Awami bloc.
