T-50 is not L-39
you cant just put S-8 rocket pods/ gun pods and suddenly turn it into a light attack aircraft
fighter version of T-50 uses AESA radar, targeting pod and etc.
pretty complex stuff to integrate
I have enough knowledge to make you sure that you can switch it to fighter version easily. It doesnt make sense to have supersonic training jets once we have not many supersonic jets. First of all, once its has capacity to carry weapons(thanks to its GE F404 engine), you can easily switch it to any version.
for example, i got some information for you below.
The TA-50 variant is a more heavily armed version of the T-50 trainer, intended for lead-in fighter training and light attack roles. It is equipped with the EltaEL/M-2032 fire control radar.[17] The TA-50 is designed to operate as a full-fledged combat platform for precision-guided weapons, air-to-air missiles,[18] and air-to-ground missiles.[19] The TA-50 can mount additional utility pods for reconnaissance, targeting assistance, and electronic warfare.
TA-50 name- is just the armed version of T-50(LIGHT ATTACK ROLES) with additional pods, fire control radar and so on.(unlike FA-50 which is multirole fighter)

I think Pakistan should try to sell ex-Soviet countries the weapons which it has made so far.
To whom? Azerbaijan? If Azerbaijan has money to buy latest technologies from ISrael, Turkey, Russia and others, why do you think they want to buy ex-svviet technologies?

No dude he says selling Pakistani stuff to ex Soviet countries.

And what could Pakistan possibly offer to Azerbaijan? Second-rate Chinese stuff branded as Pakistani (no offence)? The defence market in Azerbaijan has shaped itself pretty clearly, it is Russia, Israel, and to lesser degree Turkey, Belarus/Ukraine, South Africa, and South Korea are a possible candidate to position itself in next years. Pakistan doesn't produce any stuff that can be said to be of higher quality than any of those countries, or anything unique for that matter. Aviation and Air Defence? Land systems? Smaller arms like manpads, anti-tank missiles? Basically anything you can think of.

@ASQ-1918
Öyle bir burnunuz havalarda geziyorsunuzki neredeyse Azerbaycan Türkiye'ye yardım etsin diyeceğim.

JF 17 is the best option for Azerbaijan to build a potent air force.
Even Turkey acquired it's ballistic missile technology through Pakistan.
This arrogant attitude isn't going to help.

Ne alakası var? Dediğimi doğru düzgün anladınız mı?

JF-17 is the best option while being inferior to current Mig-29s (excluding air-to-ground capability)? Would Al-Khalid have been the "best option" as well? With your logic, probably. But Azerbaijan ended up buying T-90s

The "best option" for new aircrafts, as you say, is ultimately Russia, which is already Azerbaijan's biggest partner. Azerbaijan has zero partnership with Pakistan on these matters, and even economically.

But I was also making a general point, about all sectors of defence industry.

Why would you buy from Russia if you know that they support armenia? Wouldn't you try to distance yourself from them? Besides the jf 17 is enough for azerbaijan because it can defeat anything the armenians have and anything Iran has. Simple as that. Also pakistan is a reliable country especially during wartime. What if you need parts for your russian jets in the middle of a war with armenia? Do you think russia will provide them?

The reality is that Russia has emerged as Azerbaijan's biggest partner, and this will continue to grow according to official statements, so I'm going with that. No matter what some random forum member (like K_B) tells you.

How? It cannot even be branded as "fourth-generation", does that tell something?

I'm sure it's not as simple as that, or something the decision makers wouldn't think of.

While economy goes fairly fine Azerbaijan should focus on local production, we know how loyal is Russia's friendship is.

Even with all these points aside, someone need to remind you guys the statement of Pakistani officials themselves. They are saying that they cannot export the JF-17 without first meeting Pakistan's own demands, which would not be before the next decade. But all these JF-17 stories connected to Azerbaijan is a bad joke, mind you that the name of Turkey also was in the list of countries supposedly "interested" in this thing. It is boring that some people still hasen't grasped this hoax stories.

Turkey shows interest in JF-17 Thunder

And if you guys are just making a general point, then I simply disagree with it.

However, I was referring to all products, and not just one sector. So can you give me any examples?
