PAK - TURK Relations (Defence)

Bro, I do not know wheather Pakistan has officially joined in Tiha Block-A program but I certainly know that Pakistan and Turkey have signed agreement to develop an UAV using the technological abilities of both country. I had also some pictures from signiture ceremony but I lost them... Most probably, The UAV which is planning to develop togather will be armed one...

India seems to be in search for foreign partners to help her producing a composite stealth corvette like the Swedish Visby. Could be a reaction to Pakistans MOU with Turkey on the stealth Milgem and the composite stealth MRTP33 acquisitions.

It is very bad that although relations between Pakistan and turkey are even before the creation of Pakistan.Still our relations are limited to just signing MOUs for drones.I mean our defense cooperation should be huge.Turkey is one of the strongest members of NATO and the only Stable country in Balkans.Turkey also has probably the largest industrial capacity among all the Muslim countries. On the other hand Pakistan has huge experience of wars and its toys. With strong point being Strategic weapons.Mean while turkey on the other hand has Strong Air force and Navy.Pakistan is constantly looking for western avionics and other components for JF-17.Suppose there are sanctions on Pakistan so Turkey can either develop components for JF-17 or secretly supply western avionics to pakistan. While turkey has access to every advance western and Israeli systems including the JSF.I know that budget is a major problem but shouldn't PAF be looking for a joint Project with turkey for a new aircraft.I mean turkey can provide the western components and Pakistan could share the development experience i am sure a new aircraft can be build. Also turkey has huge potential for submarine building. Pakistan in addition to acquiring western subs should also looking for joint sub project with turkey.

I remember I attended IDEF 2009.

indian delegation made formal request for ASELSAN STAMP gun, and request was refued. It was third time indians made this request and got rejected.

Really interesting brother... Where did Indian delegation make formal request for Aselsan Stamp ? Idef 2009 ?

Could be a reaction to Pakistans MOU with Turkey on the stealth Milgem and the composite stealth MRTP33 acquisitions.

Yes... Indians will want to have similar platforms like Pakistan to keep the stability stable about composite technologies for future...

a friend of mine who works for MKE but also deals with Turkey-Pakistan acquisitions

it may have been STOP, not STAMP. I'll have to get the details from him.

I went to IDEF 2009 as a visitor, not on any MAJOR official business; I only helped with translating Turkish into Urdu =D

but there is no sufficent avidance in which we can say that any millitary deal has signed between two countries i mean we never buyed any millitary hardware from turkey

You sure bro, Only sufficient agreements we have made in past are MRTP-33, MRTP-15, Otokar APC, STAMP and pistols... Those are what I remembered from past...

and;

Milgem corvette MoU
UAV technologies MoU;

Rests are technological cooperation agreements... We should increase our trade volume...

but We must not forget one thing that Our Defence industry have started maturing newly. We are going to see the real effective defence industry platforms-systems after 2010. I hope We will see more signiture ceremonies and cooperation news after 2010, Especially about radar technics, Air Defence missiles and Atak Helicopter...

Anti-terrorism, Modernization Pace Pakistani Priorities

ISLAMABAD - Military and defense industry modernization and defeating an increasingly vicious terrorist campaign will top Pakistan's priorities in 2010.

The Air Force has seen its modernization efforts progress, and retired Air Commodore Kaiser Tufail noted three issues that gathered momentum in 2009 and should bear fruit in the coming year: the JF-17 Thunder program, the arrival of midair refueling and airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) force multipliers, and the F-16C/D Block 52.

The signing of the much-delayed U214 SSK submarine deal with German company HDW and the Pakistan-Turkey corvette program are expected in the new year. Both programs involve a high degree of technology transfer, beginning with modernization of construction facilities and indigenous construction of the warships.

The head of the Turkish conglomerate behind the corvette package, retired Rear Adm. M. Savas Onur, said a key aspect of the deal is to increase Pakistan's public-private industry cooperation in a similar vein to that of Turkey's defense industry

Hello all! My first post here and I'd like to start by saying how much I, as a Turk, agree with Pak-Yes' words and thanking all who've contributed to the creation of this most wonderful forum.

I also see some familiar Turkish faces like Cabatli and Nutuk, who I know from some other Turkish/English defense forums. Glad to see you boys here. (I won't reveal my identity, though. :))

I'm looking forward to being an active member here and promoting Turkish-Pakistani brotherhood and cooperation in national defense. Thank you.

You are most welcome bro. Good to be seeing another Turkish brother around.

Would be good if you introduce yourself in the Members Introduction section, so that forum members can welcome you on board.

Hope to see positive contribution from your side and enjoy your time.

Thank you very much for the warm welcome Taimikhan. I had overlooked that section before my first post here but when I realized that there was a whole another section for new members I went ahead and said hello there too. This forum rules! :pakistan:

I think an area where Turkey /Pakistan and China /Maliasia can cooperate is development of S300 style air defence system

Turkey has some interesting skills with Electronic warfare, radars and tracking knowledge they bring that European touch to table that is always china's achiles -

China has knowledge of microchip and other processors and PHD engineers and technical analyst and resources

Malasia has cash and also knowledge in developing hardware

Pakistan can bring knowledge with Missiles and software engineers
who have developed amazing modifications in Missile engineerings

So I don't see why we can't have a comparable system to that of
S300 etc with collective, knowledge of all these nations

I think moving in cooperation in space technology is a start towards that ultimate defensive goal to develop next generation of air defence that has EXTENDED range of defence and unlimited number of units for protecting border cities

SPADA is nice but again its not S300 or S400 etc and I think with the collective skills of all countries , perhaps in 5 years we can develop something comparable to S300 considering china already has a head start on that area -

We bring in Turkish knowledge with jamming devices and radar communication tracking capabilities it would make a great alliance - no doubt

Aselsan's mobile electronic warfare vehicle, unveiled at IDEF'07. Its development had begun back in 2002.

Blinds all enemy radars within a given radius (including aircraft and missiles) and makes it impossible for the enemy to utilize any band of the electromagnetic spectrum for communications. It can also function as a C4I relay station for friendly forces.
