Chinese firm to start cleaning up Karachi by early February

they should also clean garbage politicians and ministers over there:hitwall: how about, we should lease whole Karachi city to some Chinese company for few years for some cleaning, i am sure it will match the standards of HongKong in few years..:coffee:

Sure you can. But why do it in an old and inefficient way when you can learn from a better one and do it yourself later on?
My friend, I don't mind Chinese cooperation in different matters but my argument is that Karachi is dirty due to political hurdles and irresponsibility in the region. Ask any local there.

Even iss kaam k liyay b hamain bahar say help ki zaroorat parr gayi? Poora Mulk hi theekay pay day do kam..no :mad::mad:

On Topic: Does the scope include cleaning human filth in shape of Politicians too?

I agree that it is an insult if a government can't clean its own streets, there are no better ones or worse ones, in Beijing the streets are also swept by street cleaners manually. It's more about if the government has the will to get it done. Things will change for the better I m sure, at least the government is trying to work on it now.

Good ...finally Karachiites are getting their clean Karachi back.
Also, we badly need a firm to clean our filthy govt of corruption and other such beauties they are adorned with.

No, it isn't. Why should a government clean the streets? Why cannot communities hire waste companies to do that? It is only an insult when a government promises that it will clean the streets and it doesn't do it.

China is building the largest waste-to-energy plant in the world
It will turn a third of Shenzhen's trash into energy every single day.

In Beijing that's government policy and orders are given from top down. That's how it works here, the majority of Beijing's streets are still manually swept by street cleaners.

Chinese government has done many things that aren't part of the job description for a government, while at the same time either skip or does a poor job on the part that is actually in the job description, like justice system.

I agree, but that's how it works.

How can garbage be turned into electricity ?
Plz tell so I may start my own business lol

In Scandinavia, the garbage is sorted into several categories at the source i.e. by the people and then thrown into the garbage collectors nearby their residences. Thus biogas and leachate are produced from the putrescible or biodegradable waste, they also produce biofuel or ethanol which is used especially in public transport within the cities i.e. metro

Metals, plastics, glass are recycled while dry waste is burnt to produce electricity and district heating i.e. heating for the whole community by warming up water in a boiler and thus recirculating through a residential, commercial and office areas thus they receive hot water the year round and used for shower, radiators for heating, washing machines, dish machines, or just manual washing of dishes etc.. though the warm water is not recommended for drinking, used cold water instead for drinking.

This is a great system. It not only keeps the whole cities clean and healthy but a lot of energy is extracted and a lot of material get recycled and thus making it much sustainable.

Streets of Pakistani cities are littered with filth and trash so if this system is adopted by the city government, it can revolutionise the way people live their lives and outlook of the cities will be far more cleaner. Thus I want Pakistanis to know about this system especially as we claim to be Muslim and cleanliness is considered half of the faith... so let's review our priorities and faith and follow a clean life
