Suicide attack in Mohmand

but seems out here no one is really concerned because attacks on "ahmedis" and "darbar" are bigger problem even with lesser people dying!!

the bottom line is PAKISTANIS are DYING! but people want to only care about things closer to their homes litreally than something far away in mohamand agency a place they have never seen or heard about!

this is the sad reality of pakistan & pakistanis selfish interests and drawing room debates have put a nation to sleep!! no one wants to do anything about someone else! no one is concerned unless it directly affects them in one way or another!! :hitwall::hitwall:

you are very right ice_man, and I fully agree with your analysis.

What pains me is the fact that not only the privileged elite consider Pakistan to consider Pakistan to consist of three cities;

I can not find the self proclaimed philosophers of righteous light at this time of utter sorrow.

Lot of Muslem young people are falling in love with the idea of being a MARTYR, they dont really care whom they kill,, these so called Martyrs are kill many times more muslems then non muslems now days. Often when you have a suicide in a high school or college you will have more suicides, these kids have fell into love with death, they are really more interested in dieing and become martyas and of course Islamic Paradise is an added incentives.

your argument holds no water! Only a few misled people are committing such acts, not "a lot of Muslem young people", i don't know where you get that idea from!

Most of the children that are brainwashed to become suicide bombers are from poor families and most of the time they are homeless and they don't have much knowledge of religion and the meaning of Quran so this makes them easy to indoctrinate!

As for martyrdom, Muslims have believed in it for centuries but this new mentality that you become a Martyr by blowing yourself up in a market place full of innocent people (and that too other Muslims) is not what majority of Muslims believe in or agree with!

Sparklingway, The muslim brotherhood applies to arabs only not to fellow Pakistanis.

great point you made! Its sad that many Pakistanis care about Arabs more than their own countrymen, they come out on the streets and burn israeli flags but now they're nowhere to be seen!

and the most unfortunate part is that most Arabs i've met consider TTP "Mujahideen" and they consider Pakistan army as "Munafiqs"!

I do support the Palestinian cause as the third holiest site in Islam is located in Jerusalem, but i do expect Arabs to also support our causes!

First there should be no distinction between human lives based on religion.Thing is there is definitely something wrong in the education system which is not catering to rise a moderate pakistan.

and where did i say that killing non-Muslims is justified? And lastly the education system is a mess so i don't expect much out of it!

PESHAWAR, Pakistan — The death toll from twin suicide bombings in Pakistan jumped to 102 with 115 people wounded on Saturday, making it the deadliest attack this year in the country.

Authorities continued to remove debris from the site of the attack in the village of Yakaghund in a northwest tribal region, after two bombers struck seconds apart Friday near a government office.

One of the bombs appeared fairly small but the other was huge, officials said. At least one bomber was on a motorcycle.

The attackers detonated their explosives near the office of Rasool Khan, a deputy Mohmand administrator who escaped unharmed. The tribal elders, including those involved in setting up militias to fight the Taliban, were in the building, but none was hurt, according to Mohmand chief administrator Amjad Ali Khan.

Hunt on for victims
Video footage showed dozens of men searching through piles of yellow brick and mud rubble for survivors. Women and children were among the victims.

Mohmand is one of several areas in Pakistan's lawless tribal belt where Taliban and al-Qaida members are believed to be hiding.

Abdul Wadood, 19, was sitting in a vehicle at the time of the bombings.

"I only heard the deafening blast and lost consciousness," said Wawood, who was being treated for head and arm wounds in Peshawar, the main city in the northwest, about 15 miles (25 kilometers) away. "I found myself on a hospital bed after opening my eyes. I think those who planned or carried out this attack are not humans."

Dozens of shops destroyed

Some 70 to 80 shops were damaged or destroyed, while damage to a prison building allowed 28 prisoners — ordinary criminals, not militants — to flee, said Rasool Khan, who gave the casualty figures.

Near the attack site, officials had been distributing wheelchairs to disabled people and equipment to poor farmers, Amjad Ali Khan said. It was unclear how many participants in that event were among the victims. In the last three months of 2009, more than 500 people were killed in a surge of attacks in the country.

On New Year's Day, a suicide car bomber struck a sports event near a meeting of tribesmen who supervise an anti-Taliban militia near the South Waziristan tribal area.

Every time I read such things, my heart turns cold. Kill all these TTP *****.

And all those Afghani , kashmiri and any other hue and color terrorists. I hope the retards stop playing the dirty politics of regionalism. It has already brought undefinable misery.I can feel the sorrow as I have seen it at home.
I pray for the relatives of the dead, may God give them strength.

Most of the people who are involved in such barbaric activity don't completely understand the Quran and the meaning of most of the verse's and Chapters! They can read and write in Arabic but they can't understand it, and any so called "religious scholar" can mislead these kids!

The Quran is the words of Allah and it clearly states in the Quran that even if you kill one innocent person it as if you killed the whole of humanity and if you save one life its as if you save the whole of humanity! So if they want to please Allah they should stop targeting market places, hospitals, and mosques full of innocent people.

The problem is that the Quran ALSO has many, many passages that promote aggression against non believers or "taqfiris", So one can pick and chose from the Quran, just as one can from the Bible, to justify ois predilections. To stamp out this terrorism, some respected authority in Islam, if there is such a thing, will have to sort through all of this "stuff" in the Quran and clearly and definitively remove the justification for this violence that these people are finding. Personally, I don't think "Muslim authorities" are up to the task. Personally, I think that Islam is too disorganized and self-contradictory to reign in its own extremists. Prove me wrong.

Mohmand blast death toll rises to 106

PESHAWAR: The death toll of Friday’s deadly suicide bomb blasts at the political offices in Mohmand Agency’s Yakka Ghund tehsil has climbed to 106, as many more of the wounded succumbed to injuries in hospitals, while 18 people are still missing, the political administration said on Saturday.

Local official Mairaj Mohammad confirmed the higher toll, saying there were 98 people receiving treatment in different hospitals. “Some of them are in critical condition,” AFP quoted him as saying. Local administration chief Rasool Khan said the toll could rise further, as rescue work was underway to recover victims believed to be trapped under pulverised buildings.

Meanwhile, the martyrs’ funeral prayers were offered after which they were laid to rest at their ancestral graveyards. Over 20 unidentified bodies were also buried. Efforts are being made to remove debris from the blast site. Further, the electricity supply and telephone system could not be restored in Yaka Ghund Bazaar, adding to people’s woes.

Separately, over 30 residents of Ambar tehsil visited the blast site in search of their missing relatives. staff report/afp
