surely in current situation today we are lagging behind when to compared with Turkish Navy, and Turkish Naval industry is very robust and mature enough too when compared. A good Navy need a strong Naval industries to backing them up. We are severely lacking in number of main surface combatant warship such as Real size Frigate and we had none AAW Destroyer, our Submarine regiment is in dire condition too, i wish Indonesia and Turkey can cooperate much further in Naval aspects to fulfilling both of our Navy requirements and need.

turkey is not a muslim country. its a country with muslim majority.
islam is not the official religion of turkey.

Indigenisation is a key factor in building a strong navy. Creating & maintaining large navy is very costly affair. But you can reduce costs by building ships indigenously.

Dont forget to compare their Marine power, including logistical ships and any amphibious vehicle that they have, plus real war experience. Large Navy means projecting offensive capabilities, but for Indonesia it is a must since we are an archipelago nation. We need large Navy and South China Sea is also very hot now.
