Democracy put to the test in Romania

Romanian government, a cancer of democratic regression and corruption? Really?

Many have been concerned that former Eastern bloc countries are being "Putinised". Hungary's Viktor Orban is a textbook example of this.
However, democracy and the rule of law are in trouble even here in Britain where the government routinely uses the threat of crime and terrorism as an excuse to expand its power.

This is most likely being done in response to the NATO expansion in the former Eastern bloc. Russia wants to expand its influence in the regions which were formerly under its rule. I don't think Ponta would be pro-Putin. Romania is a member of NATO and the EU.

Iohanni is installed by Merkel. Germany is ruling Romania with remote control. :D

Lol, we wish :)) maybe we could get some things done with frau Merkel ruling ..
Alas, that's not the case..:(

@deadmau5e that ship has long sailed...currently the only country that has a pro-Russian attitude, to a point, is Serbia. And that's to a point only, as they are more interested in the EU anyway.
Hungary, imho, is more anti-EU than pro Russia, there's no affinity between Hungarians and Russians. On the contrary..

Hell, even Bulgaria, a slav country isn't exactly pro- Russia and oppose them.

@flamer84 Mai vb in cateva luni legat de Blaga si Udrea, sper sa ma insel dar nu-i vad pe astia la puscarie. Poate ministri...

Merkel is from the former GDR, she has an understanding of democracy as much as a cow on the meadow. She will rule Romania by colonial decree.

Look, she is supporting the Nazis in Ukraine, she just continues where Hitler failed in 1945.
