@Goenitz It really hurts considering how many incredible people came here to give keynotes and we couldn't get access to those keynotes without paying Rs. 25000.

25,000 rupees is ridiculous because as you said the event should be promoting computing and other tech to the masses. Couple of months ago I had a general invite to an open source s/w event in my city ( didn't attend ) where the max fee was I think 3000 rupees.

@jamahir State could have easily subsidized an event like this if it wanted. The state spends enormous money f**king PTV and PTV still uses 40-year-old cameras and produces pathetic content that no one watches. Only a fraction of this money was needed to subsidize an event like this.

An event called Future Fest but putting a huge fee to deny most people from networking including with the featured speakers and getting ideas from anywhere within the event is contradictory.

@jamahir Exactly, it's not every day that you get to listen to NASA engineers, startup founders and high-ranking personnel of megacorporations deliver keynotes.

There is a program now on Indian TV called Shark Tank Season 2 where existent companies pitch to investors who themselves were startups once. Like BoAT. These investors are so natural and fun... to be cont.

..Two days ago I very enjoyed a duo who ran a tea company in Darjeeling mountains and the product person called Sparsh was so charming. 24 years old but such a story teller who spoke like Naseeruddin Shah. Every shark enjoyed it as did I... to be cont.

@jamahir I am a diehard fan of Shark Tank USA for many years so I love this stuff. I have known about Shark Tank India for a while now and it's a wonderful show.

We also have a similar show in Pakistan called Idea Croron Ka which was inspired by Shark Tank India but unfortunately, it isn't as good as Shark Tank India.

Just got notification so I checked , that is really sad that they didn't allow public to view the talk, interview e.t.c , we dire need to get a platform ready to get startups a voice.

@Asimzranger Thankfully we have Muzamil Hasan, Mooroo and Junaid Akram for that. Their podcasts are doing wonders for the youth of this nation, especially Muzamil Hasan's podcast. Muzamil is easily one of the greatest teachers that I ever had.

I am interested in Data Science and machine learning. I also try to learn finance and economics on my own so that I am able to use data science skills in these fields once I attain them. Fintech fascinates me a lot.

@Asimzranger I am currently not interested in launching my own startup. I wish to spend at least 5-10 years in the tech industry of a highly advanced economy such as the US, UK, Germany, Canada, Netherlands, Switzerland, France, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan etc before I start working on my own startup.

@jamahir because one it's closed or shelfed, other most pitches look far fetched and invest are not there to take big risk.

@jamahir Watch Idea Croron Ka on YouTube and then compare it with Shark Tank India. It's too boring and cringy as compared to Idea Croron Ka.

Nobody, what do you mean by "Closed or shelfed" ? Secondly, can you give an example of a far-fetched pitch ? If you want we can continue in 'Whatever' because profile posts have a word limit. :)
