Twin explosions target wine shops near Sea View in DHA Karachi

KARACHI: Two consecutive explosions have ripped through two shops at Khayaban-e-Rahat in the Defense Housing Authority of Karachi as two cracker bombs went off, reports Express News.

One of the blasts occurred when a bike parked behind Cineplex Cinema on the intersection of Khayaban-e-Rahat and Khayaban-e-Muslim blew up, targeting a wine shop and injuring one person who is reportedly under stable condition.

The police have placed one suspect under arrest.

The second cracker explosion targeted Ittehad Wine Shop in Saba Commercial district near Sea View.

The bomb disposal squad has been dispatched to the site to probe the cause of the explosion.

Express News correspondent Nadeem Ahmed learned that the shop owners were pestered with demands of extortion money and the explosions are a response to not obliging them.

There was no immediate report of any casualty.

Another blast

A cracker blast has also been reported at Centrum Mall in Gulshan.
