Dhaka, Mar 13 (bdnews24.com) – An international tribunal on the seas will give its verdict on Bangladesh and Myanmar's dispute over maritime boundary in the Bay of Bengal on Wednesday.

The International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) will deliver its judgment in Hamburg, says a press release of the tribunal.

A public sitting will take place at 11:30am in Hamburg in the main courtroom, when Judge José Luis Jesus, presiding over this case at the tribunal, will read out the judgment.

Proceedings were held from September 8 to 24 in 2011.

Bangladesh, in its final submission, requested the tribunal to adjudicate and declare that the maritime boundary between Bangladesh and Myanmar shall be the line first agreed between them in 1974 and reaffirmed in 2008.

The text of the judgment will be available shortly after its delivery on the tribunal's website.

The verdict will be broadcast live on the ITLOS website and webcast of the judgment will be available in the archives as well.

6 hours from now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm running out of patience! :D

Bangladesh favours a principle based on "equity" while India and Myanmar favours "equidistance" system to get bigger maritime areas

According to UNCLOS, any such dispute should be resolved on the basis of equity, and in the light of relevant circumstances. And that makes Bangladesh's demand for equity-based demarcation justified

COME ON JESUS, BE ON OUR SIDE BRAH

Hope Bangladesh had some good Jewish lawyers representing her case. I dont trust any lawyer that is not jewish, same way i don't trust any doctor that does not speak English.

indians are instigating Myanmar aggressive bahavior in maritime dispute against Bangladesh. That goes to show two faced snake indians are. Unfortunately many Bangladeshis are not aware of india helping Myanmar against Bangladesh and Awami regime kept people in dark about indian activities.
