Geo News receives footage of FIA attack
Updated at: 2210 PST, Tuesday, October 20, 2009
LAHORE: Geo News has received on Tuesday an exclusive footage showing militants attacking over FIA office in Lahore on 15th October.

The tape shows time 9:26:34 am when people including police officer are seen agitated, running from one place to another right before a militant appears.

The militant emerges in white shalwar suit, with a black bag hanging on him.

At 9:29:03 am, this militant climbs on a footpath, firing and heads for FIA building.

Footage taken from camera installed at FIA building’s compound shows a man running into the building and a woman and police guard also are seen following him at 9:27:21am.

At the same time, the camera in the compound shows militant entering the FIA building and takes cover behind reception and this when the exchange of fire takes place between the guards and the attacker.

The terrorist tried to hide behind reception area three to four times as he dodged sniper shots fired by security guards.

The terrorist counter-attacked security guards once in a while during this shoot-out.

The attacker is seen emerging twice from the reception to return the snipers’ fire and is hit by a gunshot and he stumbles onto the ground.

Immediately afterwards at 9:33:25 am, a blast occurs and smokes is seen billowing. The militant either blows himself up after getting bullet injuries or his bomb-jacket explodes due to security guards’ firing.

Why on earth did the remove the Jersey barriers from the front of the building even after the first attack and GHQ attack is well beoynd my understanding. If anything they should have installed a permanant gate on the east side.

The sentry was too far into the complex. But atleast this proves that we need to focus more on pre-event planning and Physical Security with a different angle.
