The first public demonstration of the new spent in machine AC-1. The new rifle was developed to replace the obsolete StG.58 (licensed copy of the Belgian FN FAL), and according to the requirements of the Austrian Ministry of Defense, was to be a simple, ergonomic, and easy enough for this effective weapon. As a result, engineers Steyr-Daimler-Puch created a modular machine, consisting of five main parts: a removable barrel unit, receiver, bolt carrier with two rails, plastic boxes, plastic stock and the same store.
Also, construction machines adapted for the use of different sighting systems and other devices, the facility attachment to the current bracket. This solution allows for multifunctionality of machines for special operations forces. The same weapon can be applied in different circumstances, for this is only necessary to change the dates of sighting devices and guidance systems.
