sadi means century
purana means old

so when we say sadiyo it becomes plural of sadi

so sadiyo se purana hamara rishta

Our relation which is older then centuries

In persian we call the number 100 as Sad. Do these 2 words have any connection?

Oh really. Yaa quite possible actually the language urdu is a mixture of hindi and persian written in arabic dialect. So many words we will find in common in persian and Indic language.

But being true the language which we speak in India is not pure Hindi but we call it Indic because it is little urdu mixed with Hindi. Pure hindi is hardly used apart from for written communication.

Probably does, Persian belongs to the Iranic group of Indo-European languages. Also Persian has left a great influence on both Hindi and especially Urdu during Mughal times.

yes with coming of Mughals Indians adapted persian which was language of the court in those days. But soon it got mixed with Hindi to form Urdu. With a huge amount of Urdu speaking populace Hindi also got remixed to become what it is today. North Indic to be precise.

But you will be surprized to know that in India even Hindi changes every 100 km. the accent and the dialect.

hera pheri is slang for fraud. Phir means again
so phir hera pheri means fraud again

Yes hindi speakers can understand 80% of urdu and vice versa but only in oral form not in written because Hindi is written in devnagari script and urdu in persian (not sure.)

Urdu has strong roots in the sub continent. Even today, in courts, Police records etc there are urdu words that are used though spelt in hindi. This is particularly so in N India.

land revenue records too mostly comprise of urdu words written in Devanagari script.

The beauty of Urdu is that it conveys a lot in a little.

Add to this the India cinema, this has single handedly helped keep Urdu alive. The era of the 60 & 70's saw some amazing movies in Urdu / Hindi. Their songs are immortal and so are those who wrote them who incidentally were both Hindu & Muslims.

In N India, the mix of Udru & Hindi is loosly refered to as Ganga -Jamuni style of writing / speech - a mix of the rivers Ganges & Jamuna.
