As long as the vital organs are protected,its fine,most importantly the heart.

Chances of fatality are low when you get a bullet in your stomach.

The only problem is with their helmets,like all modern ones,they don't protect the back of your neck,especially the spinal chord.

Those pictures you see is of Para Commandos and RR personnel and they are in a field area...and in a field area or war like area the Army doesnt give too much importance on these things.

In the Indian Army soldiers get very less free clothing from the Army and they have to get their uniform stiched with their own money.Now in the market there are different types of Camo available...so you get to see different types of camo.

But all this is going to end very soon after the F-INSAS project gets completed.

Its not that they dont issue...they do issue but its not enough for the whole year...like if you get the cloth to get only 2 uniforms stitched then its not enough...you will have to buy the cloth and get extra uniform stitched.

And when the soldiers are in battlefield..no one cares about these things coz the Army doesnt provide Waterproof jackets and good quality shoes..so the soldiers have to buy it from their pocket and you can't expect any uniformity when they are buying it from the market.

Army still issues world war 2 era boots which are a punishment for your feet...soldiers get better quality boots in market so they prefer to wear them in battlefield...so there is no uniformity in the field areas...rest in peace areas soldiers wear the Army uniforms properly with the world war 2 era boots.

US made boots are sold for around 4000 rs in Pakistan...... nobdy is interested coz Pak army standard issue is almost same standard just leather.

I read somewhere that US Army boots are bulletproof against small arms fire.

Anyways i had a 5000rs CAT boot but its nowhere in front of the 650rs boot which the Indian Army soldiers buy from the Wet Canteen.
