Man, the Jews hate Carter so much. I really feel like one of the reasons his presidency is often interpreted as "the worst" is because he never toed the line for Israel. He may have arranged the Camp David Accords, but the Jews sensed early on that he was not viscerally supportive of Israel.

He was a good man with sincere intentions. But unfortunately this began the era of hardcore politics and he wasn't adapted to it.
