A chopper of NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) crashed in Afghanistan on Thursday, the alliance said in a statement released here.
"An International Security Assistance Force helicopter crashed in eastern Afghanistan today," the statement added.
Without giving more details, it said, "ISAF is still in the process of assessing the circumstances to determine more facts. However, all crew members have been recovered with no reported fatalities and the site of the incident is secure."
The statement also did not reveal the exact place of the crash.
An area resident, Abdul Raqib, said the rebels fired rockets at the aircraft soon after a clash between them and security forces broke out on Thursday in the Jaubyar area. “I saw the helicopter burst into flames,” he added.
Tagab district police chief Col. Mohammad Anwar said it was unclear as yet whether the helicopter had made an emergency landing or involved an enemy activity.
