Automotive industry produces int’l brands

KARACHI: Automotive industry of Pakistan is successfully producing international standard and brands of cars, motorcycles and tractors.

There are around 3,200 units of automotive industry with investment of Rs 92 billion, employing 1.8 million peoples and producing annually 1.8 million motorcycle and 200,000 vehicles. The auto part industry is generating export of Rs 128 million with great potential to further enhance.

Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig adviser to Prime Minister on Textile said Pakistan possessed a huge potential to become a manufacturing and exporting hub of auto industry for renowned Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) of the world. staff report

Great since Pakistan is such a strong nation in automotive sector why scared to let Indian companies to do some business there. I am sure Pakistani companies will out compete Indians and lead their domestic market.

We need Pakistani company that does the Research and Development with Pakistani Engineers and our own patents on technology

Lemme be honest with you guys. Your automotice industry is total cray, an undeveloped dying industry. Even Iran with half the population produces about 1.2 million cars but here we have Pakistan with barely 169000 cars per year. . Are you kidding me right now??? Arn't you guys ashamed that your nation can't even produce its own car company.

We had that in Adam motors, but our corrupt mafia government would not support them and they went under.

Pakistani auto industry is run by a mafia that keeps competition away which is why a 30 year old piece of junk is the most popular car there.
