Promotions - Pakistan Navy

Two officers of Pak Navy promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral.

The newly promoted R/Adm Faisal Amin and R/Adm Syed Faisal Ali Shah have vast experience of various Command & Staff appointments.
Both officers are recipient of SI(M).

Finally a Marines Officer made it to Rear Admiral Rank.


Rear Admiral Syed Faisal Ali Shah was commissioned in Operations Branch of Pakistan Navy in 1992.

The flag officer’s distinguished academic career included MSc in Defence & Strategic Studies from Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad, Masters in War Studies (Maritime) from Bahria University, Master of Military Studies from US and M-Phil in Public Policy and Strategic Security Management from National Defence University, Islamabad.

He is a graduate of Pakistan Navy War College, US Marine Corps Command and Staff College and National Defence University Islamabad.

The admiral has a vast experience of command and staff appointments which include command of a Marines Operational unit, Commander West and Commander Creeks. He has also served as director marines and Special Service Group (Navy) at Naval Headquarters as well as Naval & Air Attaché of Pakistan in Iran.

Rear Admiral Syed Faisal Ali Shah is presently appointed as Director General Joint Cantonment Gwadar (DGJCG) at Joint Staff Headquarters.

The admiral is a recipient of Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military)

Two officers of Pakistan Navy have been promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral with immediate effect.

Rear Admiral Amir Mahmood got commissioned in Operations Branch of Pakistan Navy in 1992. The Flag Officer is a graduate of National Defence University, Islamabad, Pakistan Navy War College, Lahore and has done joint Warfare Course from Australia. The Admiral has an illustrious naval career covering vast experience of various Command and Staff appointments. His Command appointments include Commandant Pakistan Naval Academy, Commandant Jinnah Naval Base and Commanding Officer of PNS ZULFIQUAR & PNS JURRAT. His Staff appointments include Senior Pakistan Naval Officer Saudi Arabia, Director Human Resources at Naval Headquarters, Naval Liaison Officer at HQ US NAVCENT Bahrain and Senior Staff Officer (Ops) to Commander West & Commander Coast. The Admiral is a recipient of Sitara-i-lmtiaz (Military).

Rear Admiral Imtiaz Ali was commissioned in Operations Branch of Pakistan Navy in 1993. The Flag Officer is graduate of National Defence University, Islamabad and Pakistan Navy War College, Lahore. The Admiral has a vast experience of command and staff appointments. His major Command appointments include Commander 25th Destroyer Squadron and Commanding Officer PNS ALAMGIR & PNS MUJAHID. His staff appointments include Chief Naval Overseer 1st OPV Mission Romania, Director Pakistan Navy Tactical School, Naval Liaison Officer US NAVCENT Bahrain and Assistant Principal Staff Officer to Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee JSHQ. The Admiral is a recipient of Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) & has been conferred with Tamgha-i-Basalat twice.

Rear Admiral Raja Rab Nawaz assumed command as Commander Coast (COMCOAST) during Change of Command ceremony held at Karachi. Rear Admiral Javaid Iqbal handed over command to the newly appointed Commander Coast.
Rear Admiral Raja Rab Nawaz got commission in Operations Branch of Pakistan Navy in 1991. The Admiral has an illustrious career with vast experience of various Command and Staff appointments.

His major Command & Staff appointments include Commanding Officer PNS ZULFIQUAR, Fleet Operations Officer to Commander Pakistan Fleet at Karachi, Director Operational Research, Director Naval Operational Plans, Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Plans), Chief Staff Officer to Commander Pakistan Fleet, Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Welfare & Housing) and Commander West.

Rear Admiral Raja Rab Nawaz has also served as Defence & Naval Advisor of Pakistan in United Kingdom. Previously, he was serving as Flag Offcer Sea Training (FOST) at Karachi.

The Flag Officer is a graduate of Pakistan Navy War College Lahore and National Defence University, Islamabad. He is also a holder of Master's degree in Security Studies from United States.

The Admiral is also a recipient of Hilal-e-lmtiaz (Military).

During Change of Command ceremony, the Admiral was presented Guard of Honour and introduced to the Commandants/ Commanding Officers of units under Command. The ceremony was attended by Pakistan Navy officers, CPOs/ Sailors and Navy Civilians.

Rear Admiral Javaid Iqbal assumed Command as Commander Central Punjab (COMCEP) during Change of Command ceremony held at PN War College, Lahore. Upon assuming the Command, Rear Admiral Javaid Iqbal is Commander of Pakistan Navy establishments in Punjab province.

Rear Admiral Muhammad Hussain Sial got commissioned in Pakistan Navy in 1991. The Admiral is a graduate of Pakistan Navy War College Lahore and National Defence University Islamabad and holds Master of Science degree in Sound & Vibration from United Kingdom.

The Admiral has an illustrious service career having vast experience of Command and Staff appointments. His Command appointment includes Commandant PNS KARSAZ. His major Staff and field appointments include Director (Projects) MTC North, General Manager PCBRF, General Manager (Technical) MTC South and Deputy Managing Director (Support & Services) at PN Dockyard.

Presently Rear Admiral Muhammad Hussain Sial is appointed as Managing Director PN Dockyard, Karachi.

Rear Admiral Muhammad Saleem takes over as Commander Karachi

KARACHI: Rear Admiral Muhammad Saleem assumed the responsibilities as Commander Karachi (COMKAR) during Change of Command ceremony held at Karachi. Rear Admiral Mian Zakirullah Jan handed over the Command to the newly-appointed Commander Karachi.

Rear Admiral Muhammad Saleem is graduate of Pakistan Navy War College, Lahore and National Defence University, Islamabad.

The Admiral has an illustrious naval career covering vast experience of various Command and Staff appointments. In recognition of his meritorious services the Admiral was awarded Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military) by the Government of Pakistan.

The Change of Command ceremony was attended by Pakistan Navy officers, CPOs/ Sailors and Navy Civilians.

Vice Admiral Abdul Samad was commissioned in Operations branch of Pakistan Navy in 1990. During his illustrious career, the Flag Officer has served on various Command and Staff appointments. His Command appointments include Commanding Officer of PN Submarine and Commander of Submarines Squadron. His major Staff appointment was Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Training & Evaluation) at Naval Headquarters. The Admiral is a graduate of Pakistan Navy War College Lahore and National Defence University Islamabad.
Vice Admiral Abdul Samad is presently serving as Cdr NSFC. In recognition of his meritorious services, the Flag Officer has been awarded Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military).

Vice Admiral Abid Hameed was commissioned in Marine Engineering branch of Pakistan Navy in 1988. During his illustrious service career, the Admiral has held diversified Command & Staff appointments. His Command appointments include Managing Director PN Dockyard and Commander Logistics. His salient Field and Staff appointments include General Manager Ship Rebuild & Construction at PN Dockyard, and Assistant Chief of Naval Staff Projects, Works and Maintenance at Naval Headquarters. The Admiral is a graduate of Pakistan Navy War College Lahore, National Defence University Islamabad. Presently, Vice Admiral Abid Hameed is appointed as Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Material) at Naval Headquarters. In recognition of his illustrious career, the Admiral has been awarded Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military).
