Uri: The Surgical Strike is one of the most-awaited films slated to release next year. Headlined by Vicky Kaushal, Paresh Rawal and Yami Gautam, it is based on the 2016 surgical strikes conducted by the Indian Army on Pakistan across the LoC.

The official trailer of the action-studded film created ripples upon its release a couple of weeks ago. While the performances by Vicky, Paresh and Yami fetched the attention of moviegoers, the dialogues became the talking point too – the last one in particular mouthed by Vicky’s character where he tells a Pakistani soldier, “Apni 72 hooron ko hamara salaam bolna! Kehna daawat par intezar karein, aaj bahut saare mehmaan bhejne wale hain.”(Convey our greetings to the 72 virgins! Tell them to wait for the feast, we are going to send a lot of guests)

But this dialogue is nowhere to be found in the film’s revised trailer. Yes, the original trailer has quietly been taken off all online platforms and a new one has been released, which is 13 seconds shorter. While we are not certain as to why the makers have removed this particular dialogue from the trailer, we suspect it has been done to avoid hurting religious sentiments. No official announcement has been made in this regard though. (Box office numbers can't decide if a film is good or not, says Uri actor Vicky Kaushal)

Uri: The Surgical Strike is written and directed by debutant Aditya Dhar. The film, produced by Ronnie Screwvala under the film production banner of RSVP Movies, is slated to hit the screens on January 11. At the box-office, the film will clash with The Accidental Prime Minister.
