Yang lauds successful holding of first China, Pakistan, Afghanistan dialogu

BEIJING, Mar 3 (APP): Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi has lauded the successful holding of the first trilateral dialogue between China, Pakistan and Afghanistan in Beijing. Yang noted that holding the dialogue under current international and regional situation is significant for the three countries to increase understanding and friendship, address challenges together, maintain common interest and promote regional peace, stability and development.

He believed that the dialogue, with the concerted efforts of the three parties, will become a useful platform for them to jointly cope with the fluctuating regional situation.
Yang expressed these views at a meeting on Wednesday with Alamgir Babar, head of the Pakistani delegation and Additional Secretary of the Pakistani Foreign Ministry and Amanullah Jayhoon, head of the Afghan delegation and Director General of the First Political Department of the Afghan Foreign Ministry who were attending the first trilateral dialogue of China-Afghanistan-Pakistan, according to a statement posted at the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
Heads of the Pakistani and Afghan delegations thanked China for taking initiative to organize the first trilateral dialogue and indicated willingness to make joint efforts to push for greater achievements of the dialogue.
The first trilateral dialogue of China-Afghanistan-Pakistan was held in Beijing from February 28 to 29. Luo Zhaohui, Director-General of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs chaired the dialogue.
