Well we have decentralize system so local government can make their own rule regarding education within their local administration. The problem raise because it is public school that do that, private owned school and madrasah can still maintain their hijab policy if they want.

Nope, local government has more say on the rule within their jurisdiction. For Jakarta, public school look like obligate female student to wear hijab only on Friday, and it include even first grade in elementary school.

Do you have mandatory Islamic studies classes for students in Indonesia? In Pakistan, schools (no matter public or private) have to teach Islamic studies to kids from 1st grade to 10th grade minimum. Wonder how is curriculum in Indonesia?
