KASUR: PML-N’s youth wing president Mubashar Nawaz announced joining the PTI here on Thursday.
He was one of the aspirants for the PP-178 ticket in the 2013 general elections, but the PML-N had awarded the ticket to Malik Ahmed Saeed who won the election.
Nawaz had contested the election as an independent candidate against the PML-N candidate.
Later, PTI leader and former foreign minister Khursheed Mahmood Kasuri and hundreds of workers attended a meeting at a hotel in Lahore. Most PTI workers and office bearers, who attended the meeting, had already left their houses for fear of being arrested as the Punjab government had launched a crackdown on PTI activists in Lahore and other districts.
The women were particularly in high spirit to join the long march on Aug 14.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Kasuri said the days of the present rulers had been numbered and the masses had come out for a change and true democracy.
