258 tonnes of relief items arrive from other countries during two days
ISLAMABAD Oct 27 (APP): The relief goods for quake affected areas from various countries continue to keep pouring in without pause.
During last two days, 258 tonnes of relief goods have arrived from the countries like, Ukraine, Brazil, Russia, Sri Lanka, China, USA, Malaysia, UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan Consulate of UAE at Chaklala Airbase.
Relief items from France and Qatar which included packs of Tents, Blankets, Pullovers, Medicines and Clothing arrived at Lahore International airport. These packets were subsequently dispatched to earthquake affected areas in NWFP and Azad Kashmir by Helicopters and trucks.
Beside, sizeable relief goods, 52 rescue and medical teams from all over the world have also arrived to take part in the on-going relief and rescue activities in the quake-afflicted areas of the country.
Meanwhile, 18 rescue and medical teams, which were working in the devastated areas had returned to their respective countries.
However, 34 relief and medical teams from other countries are still working in various earthquake affected areas and rendering necessary assistance to the victims
