Kings and Generals begins an animated historical animated documentary series on the Hundred Years' War, with the video on the battle of Crecy of 1346. This first video focuses on the origins of the premiere conflict of the medieval history between England led by Edward III and France led by Philip VI, and the first engagements of the 100 Years' War, including Sluys and Crecy. In the aftermath of the battle of Crecy , the king of France Philip VI and the king of England Edward wrestle for dominance using diplomacy and involving the Pope and the king of Navarre Charles II. However, as diplomacy failed, England restarted the war and the king's son Edward the Black Prince embarked on the Grand Chevauchee of 1355, which eventually leads to the famous battle of Poitiers.
