This temple has two cat-like stone figures guarding the steps. The town of Haripur was founded in 1822 by Sardar Hari Singh, the Sikh Governor of Hazara. It became the headquarters of the Haripur tehsil of the Hazara District after annexation. However, it was abandoned in favour of Abbottabad in 1853.

1960s: "A Safe Land" - Tourist Double Decker Buses Passing through Khyber Pass.

Muhammad Yunis We called this area "NAAL GULAAYE" The train ride was the best in the world, no ticket, hanging by the handle, getting down from a slowly moving train, climbing up 50 feet and wait for the train to come back and ride on it running along it. 19 miles Jamrud to Landikotal took 2 hours. The train used two engines one in front and one behind. Wonder if that service is there anymore.
